True freshman Cornerback Davison Igbinosun has signed an NIL (name, image, likeness) contract with Spirit NIL and is being co-sponsored by Ark Capital out of Oxford and Jennings Orthodontics out of Houston, TX.

Igbinosun, who hails from Union, NJ, and will don the #20 jersey this fall, is a 6-2 185-pounder who made quite the impression on the coaches in spring training, ending up as, at the least, a rotation corner and, possibly, a starter when all is said and done this season.

“I was getting my feet wet, getting acclimated in spring and thought I did an OK job,” said Davison. “I think now that is behind me, I can do a lot better. It takes time to adjusted to SEC play.”

Ark Capital is located at 1223 Jackson Avenue, Suite 203, and is owned by long time Oxford financial advisor Allen Kimbrell. He can be reached at 662-359-6770.

“My goal is to dominate,” noted Davison, who can be followed by Twitter @DaveIgbinosun. “I believe I can be that kind of player in time. I still have things to work on because I am young and this is a whole new level, but I will get there.”

Jennings Orthodontics is located in Houston at 13132 Memorial Drive and can be reached at 281-497-7920. Dr. Brad Jennings is an Ole Miss graduate and avid Rebel fan.

“I’m really looking forward to fall camp. I have been at home in New Jersey all summer working out and preparing myself. I’m excited,” he closed.

Sophomore Safety Tysheem Johnson came onto the scene quickly last year.

He played three different safety slots as a freshman and registered 47 tackles.

For his efforts, he is being rewarded with an NIL contract from two Mississippi businesses – Dental Arts of Corinth (662-287-3156) and Sayle & Sandifer CPAs (662-378-2222).

When the dust had settled from spring, Tysheem was not only one of the top safeties on the defense, he is considered one of the top tier players, period, on that side of the ball by the coaches we have been told.

“Spring was easier for me because I had already been in the system and knew what to do,” said Johnson, a 5-10 200-pounder from Philadelphia, PA. “I didn’t have a whole lot to learn and so I was able to work more on my techniques without being too cramped up mentally.”

Tysheem believes he’s going to be an important cog in the Rebel defense under new DC Chris Partridge.

“I believe I will be called on to play three safety slots again,” Johnson, who can be followed on Twitter @TysheemJohnson5, said.

“That’s a challenge, but one I like.”

Johnson said he’s got two main goals in fall camp.

“I need to work on my man coverage and I need to work on my tackling. I wouldn’t call those things weaknesses, but you can always get better in both areas,” he closed.
