Is this the Ole Miss football schedule for the 2024 season?

Usually come bowl season the following college football season schedule is set for Ole Miss and the rest of the Southeastern Conference. That is not the case this year.

With the addition of Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC starting July 1 it has caused a little delay in schedules for many sports, including football. By mid- to late-November the Rebels and the rest of the SEC know when and where they are playing their respective 12 games the following fall.

Last week the SEC announced the 2024 conference schedule would be revealed for all 16 teams during a special on December 13 to air on SEC Network. But Ole Miss fans might already know when the Rebels are playing.

Thanks to the Ole Miss Alumni Association’s annual calendar the Rebels 2024 schedule possibly was spoiled a week early with 12 Saturdays listing games.

The four non-conference opponents and dates have been known with Ole Miss returning back to an old-school, traditional format of playing all non-conference games first before going an eight-game gauntlet to close out the season.

Starting on August 31 Ole Miss begins its 2024 campaign by hosting Furman followed by a home game against Middle Tennessee and new head coach Derek Mason the next week. A trip to Wake Forest on September 14 is the Rebels lone non-conference road trip before closing things out against Georgia Southern back in Oxford the following Saturday.

Ole Miss has known its SEC opponents for a few months with home games against Kentucky, Oklahoma, Georgia and Mississippi State. Road trips to Florida, South Carolina, Arkansas and LSU rounded out the SEC slate.

But now fans can begin mapping out their Ole Miss trips earlier than the rest of the SEC thanks to a calendar. Kentucky is slated to be 2024 Homecoming on September 28 and then host the Sooners on October 26. Georgia makes a trip to Oxford the second weekend of November and Mississippi State is slated for Thanksgiving night on November 28.

One thing soon-to-be fifth year head coach Lane Kiffin might not like, if the dates on the calendar are correct, is an SEC road trip the Saturday before playing the Bulldogs on a short week. That will mimic what Ole Miss had to do in 2022 with a trip to Arkansas for a night game then hosting Mississippi State five nights later.

If the schedule is accurate then Ole Miss gets two bye weeks next season with open dates potentially being October 19 and November 16.
