Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin sat down with On3’s Andy Staples earlier this week to talk about several things. The two discussed the constantly-changing landscape of college football, the NCAA Transfer Portal, NIL and much more.

On this edition of “The Flagship”, presented by College Corner, Staples joins us in studio to recap the conversation with Kiffin and what all was talked about. He delves into the delicate dance of bringing in new players, managing the current roster and even EA Sports College Football 25.

“My brain thinks about ‘What would help in recruiting?’ If you did pay me for that, I wouldn’t want it,” Kiffin said. “I’d want you to put it into our NIL.”

Andy Staples also discusses his proposed “super league” and several other pressing topics.

Kiffin also talks about the handling of roster value and the Grove Collective being a catalyst for rebuilding and revamping the roster ahead of the 2024 season.

“It just probably sounds strange to a lot of people for me to say the disaster when we’re out there — some would say — maximizing it as well as you can and as well as anybody,” Kiffin said. “But to me, that tells you how much of a disaster it is. Even though it benefits us, I’m still telling you it’s a disaster even though it benefits us at Ole Miss a lot.”
