No. 14 Ole Miss moved to 5-0 on the season with a 22-19 win over No. 7 Kentucky on Saturday.

This team of Rebels might be better than last year, when a Matt-Corral-led group went 10-3 and reached the Sugar Bowl for the 10th time in school history.

Ben Garrett and David Johnson are here to convince you non-believers in this postgame edition of Franchise Player, a site-crossover podcast of the Ole Miss Spirit (On3) and Inside the Rebels (247).

Plus, the guys have plenty of praise for both the Ole Miss defense and Rebel fans in general. Ole Miss always supports a winner, and Lane Kiffin and Co. are red-hot.

“We could have finished the game earlier,” Kiffin told ESPN minutes after the game. “Screwed around and didn’t play well enough on offense in the second half. We have a lot of work to do with a lot of really good teams to play. We kind of got out of here with this one, which is good.

“It was good to have some people in the stands. They were better than our four-minute offense. Glad they were here.”

We’ve also got helmet stickers to hand out (Quinshon Judkins, again!) and a pick to make on which Rebel won the week. Forget the final stats, because first-year quarterback Jaxson Dart has never looked more in-control than he did against the Wildcats.

Kentucky had been billed as the turning-point game of the season since the 2022 schedule was released months and months ago.

Buckle up. These Rebels may very well be for real.
