Not a shock to anyone under the sun and plugged into the college football world this year to see Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins listed among the elite of the Southeastern Conference.

With SEC Media Days in full swing and hitting the halfway mark after the conclusion of Tuesday’s events the Preseason All-SEC teams are beginning to roll out.

Both On3 and Pro Football Focus released their respective All-SEC teams on Tuesday and Judkins is firmly entrenched in both outlets First Team.

What appears will be a trend moving throughout the season is Judkins being joined at the hip by Arkansas running back Raheim Sanders as the two top SEC running backs in 2023. The pair make up the first team for On3 and PFF’s All-SEC teams.

The move is not a stretch by any means as Judkins edged out Sanders for the 2022 SEC rushing title by 122 yards.

As far as Ole Miss is concerned there is a bit of a surprise First Team addition with Judkins on PFF’s First Team. Transfer receiver Zakhari Franklin was named one of the three wide receivers on the First Team, joining LSU’s Malik Nabers and Georgia’s Dominic Lovett.

Franklin is making the move from UTSA to Ole Miss, but has not yet made it to campus with with fall camp a few weeks away.

Other Ole Miss players named to the PFF All-SEC team include Jeremy James as Third Team guard and Cedric Johnson as Third Team EDGE.

Judkins will represent Ole Miss on Thursday when he makes his SEC Media Days debut.

The starting running back for Ole Miss entering his sophomore season has Judkins further in the spotlight at the start of fall camp than he was this time a year ago.

Last August Judkins was a true freshman who was working his way through his first August camp after taking part in spring drills. Quickly through the first half of the 2022 season the rest of the SEC and nation took notice of what Judkins could do.

Now, the Pike Road product is in the conversation to be one of the top Heisman candidates for the SEC. Though Ole Miss is going to have to help and do its collective part in keeping Judkins in the conversation all season long.

Joining Judkins this week in Nashville will be Media Days veteran Cedric Johnson and cornerback Deantre Prince. Prince is also making his first trip to Media Days.

Head coach Lane Kiffin will take the main room stage at approximately 9:05 a.m. CT on Thursday as Ole Miss is the first of three teams to wrap up this year’s Media Days on Thursday.
