Penn State Starting Off Hot In Spring Recruiting | Who Is Visiting This Weekend?

The Penn State Nittany Lions recruiting efforts kicked back into high gear this week with the start of spring football. The team has already hosted a top quarterback prospect, and will host numerous top 100 players over the next several days. The recruiting experts from Blue White Illustrated are back to discuss all of that, and more on today’s BWI Live Recruiting Show.

Sean Fitz and Ryan Snyder break down the team’s most interesting recruiting visits this week. Join the recruiting show every Thursday at 10 a.m. on YouTube to be the first to find out the latest recruiting news. If you can’t make the live show, check out the replay on the BWI YouTube Channel or here on the site.

Penn State hosts one of its top quarterback prospects

The week started out strong, with four-star quarterback Malik Washington visiting the program on Tuesday. Washington is one of the top quarterback prospects Penn State is courting this cycle so getting him on campus early is a win. Fitz and Snyder update fans on the competition for Penn State’s open quarterback spot between Washington and borderline five-star passer Matt Zollers. Snyder explains how the timeline for the two quarterbacks ultimately affect the decision if there is one for Penn State.

The tight end board is an equally promising section of Penn State’s recruiting efforts in 2023. Four-start tight end Andrew Olesh visits the program Thursday, but the team has several other top prospects interested in the program. Can the Lions land another elite tight end? We discuss the potential for the team to add to its stacked roster.

Penn State cornerback board and recruiting visitors

Fitz broke down Penn State’s cornerback board last week in an in-depth article focusing on the major players at the position. On today’s show he talks about the players that stand out at the position, including McDonogh’s Brandon Finney and UK transplant Onis Konanbanny. Beyond the individual names, what’s the overall feeling of Penn State’s position? He discusses that on the show. We also highlight current commit Xxavier Thomas and how he fits into the positional outlook.

Finally, Fitz and Snyder discuss the interesting and important names visiting the program during the first week of spring practice. Does Penn State have a chance with Ohio running back Bo Jackson? Top 15 player Kaliq Lockett visits on Thursday and is a national talent at receiver. Our experts discuss the team’s position with these top prospects and more.
