Penn State has added another coveted linebacker to its list of expected visitors Saturday, as four-star prospect Brett Clatterbaugh confirmed with multiple sources that he’ll head back to State College this upcoming weekend.

Listed at 6-foot-2, 240 pounds, Clatterbaugh earned an offer from the Nittany Lions in June 2022 after camping with the staff. The Culpeper, Va., native has returned to campus on two other occasions, attending the past two White Out games against Minnesota in Oct. 2022 and Iowa this past September. That makes this weekend’s visit his fourth to Penn State overall.

Over the past year and a half, Clatterbaugh has earned nearly two dozen scholarship offers. Last month, he announced that Penn State was one of five schools standing out the most. Clemson, Georgia, Notre Dame and Virginia Tech also made the cut.

Brent Pry and his staff at Virginia Tech have hosted Clatterbaugh for five visits so far, with Clemson totaling four visits. Both of those schools are expected to host him again in the coming weeks, with Clatterbaugh traveling to Clemson on Jan. 27. He’ll then go to Virginia Tech two days later to watch the Hokies play Duke in basketball on Jan. 29. Both Georgia and Notre Dame have hosted Clatterbaugh for two visits each to this point.

“Penn State has always had good things to say about me and has always been really interested,” Clatterbaugh told BWI’s Sean Fitz previously. “Every time I’m up, they show great enthusiasm and find time to talk with me.”

According to On3’s Industry Rankings, Clatterbaugh is ranked No. 319 nationally in the Class of 2025. He’s the 36th-ranked linebacker and No. 8 overall in Virginia.

Clatterbaugh is one of four linebacker prospects in the 2025 class who plan to visit Penn State this weekend. On Tuesday, Blue White Illustrated was the first to report that Latrobe, Pa., native Alex Tatsch was set to return to campus. Both Fitz and I have logged RPM picks for Tatsch to end up with the Nittany Lions.

Penn State will also host legacy prospect Anthony Sacca from St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia and Kamar Archie from the Hun School in New Jersey. Just like Tatsch and Clatterbugh, Sacca and Archie hold early four-star ratings in the Industry Rankings. All of them will be meeting with new defensive coordinator Tom Allen for the first time in person.
