Purdue gets commitment from 2026 Alabama tight end
Purdue landed a commitment from 2026 TE ArMari Towns on Thursday.
“I love the Purdue atmosphere,” Towns told GoldandBlack.com. “And the coaches, they all showed me so much love and care!”
Towns has only played tight end the last two years, working as a wideout before that.
“I can run routes like a WR,” said Towns, who still plays some receiver. “I’m willing to learn what I need to help the team win. If that’s block, I’ll do that.”
Towns is a 6-6, 220-pound product of Selma (Ala.) Southside High (was at Hoover, Ala., high last year but moved for family reasons) who had offers from the likes of Ole Miss, Florida State, Arizona and Memphis, among others.

Towns was on campus for Purdue’s Spring Showcase weekend earlier this month and had seen his recruitment pick up steam of late.
Towns is the Boilermakers’ sixth pledge in the Class of 2026, joining Chicago Marist OL Rico Schrieber, Grand Rapids (Mich.) Catholic Central LB Brayden Sweeney, Ontario (Calif.) Charter Oak QB Corin Berry, Rockwood (Mich.) Oscar A. Carlson High RB Izaiah Wright and New Palestine (Ind.) OL Brock Brownfield.
