Charlie Jones‘ decision to transfer from Iowa to Purdue received further validation on Wednesday when the receiver was named consensus first-team All-Big Ten.

Jones has 97 catches for 1,199 yards and 12 TDs, all Big Ten-leading totals. And the sixth-year senior will add to those statistics on Saturday when Purdue (8-4 overall; 6-3 Big Ten) plays Michigan (12-0; 9-0) in the Big Ten championship game at 8 p.m. ET in Indianapolis.

Jones missed out on becoming the third Purdue player to earn the Richter–Howard Receiver of the Year award. David Bell took the honor last season. Rondale Moore won it in 2018. Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison, Jr. won the receiver award in 2022. He has 72 catches for 1,157 yards and 12 TDs.

Last year, Jones was named Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Year for the Hawkeyes. He was named a consensus honorable mention All-Big Ten return man this season.
