Jennings eclipsed 300-yards passing for the third-straight game and took care of Louisville. With Jennings out of the game, running back Shaadie Clayton-Johnson broke one loose for a 50-yard touchdown to extend SMU’s lead. The Mustangs hold a 38-6 advantage over the Cardinals with 5:30 left in regulation.

Miz Knight just caught a touchdown for the third-straight game. This time, Jennings lofted a ball to the back corner of the end zone, where Miz kept incredible concentration to maintain control of the football and secure a foot in bounds. SMU leads 31-6 and is well on its way to its eighth win of the season, with 9:38 remaining in regulation.

End of third quarter: SMU 24, Louisville 6

In a slow, groggy third quarter, kicker Sam Keltner made sure to add some insurance, nailing a 49-yard field goal to put SMU up 24-6. Mustangs looking to close out this game and put pressure on Georgia Tech as the Yellow Jackets look to hold off SMU in the ACC standings.

A commanding first half sees the Mustangs head to the locker with a large lead. Kevin Jennings has been the star of the show so far. TJ Harden has been impressive, recording 55 yards on 10 carries, while the defense held Louisville to a field goal at the end of the half. The Cardinals will get the ball to start the second half, but have a lot of adjustments to make in the next 20 minutes.

The SMU defense forced a second-straight three-and-out on Louisville, and the offense holding up its end of the bargain. On this drive, the Mustangs went 70 yards on seven plays, as Jennings shoveled a pass to running back TJ Harden for the five-yard touchdown. Jennings is currently 15-16 for 154 yards and three total touchdowns. SMU is all over Louisville, 21-3, with 3:25 to play in the half.

The SMU offense put together another balanced drive, milking anoth 5:19 off the clock. Jennings connected with wide receiver Jordan Hudson on a fade route for the seven-yard touchdown. SMU is in control, leading 14-3, with 8:53 left in the second quarter. Jennings is performing well right now, completing 10-11 passes for 87 yards and has the Mustangs two touchdowns.

End of first quarter: SMU 7, Louisville, 3

Both teams took lots of time off the clock on their opening drive. After each team had the ball once, less than five minutes remained in the first quarter. The SMU’s second drive stalled out thanks to a personal foul penalty. Louisville will start the second quarter with a third and four at its 18-yard line.

Louisville answers with a field goal

With starting quarterback Miller Moss and running back Isaac Brown out, the Cardinals offense is short-handed. But young quarterback Deuce Adams settled in quickly, completing four of five passes for 21 yards, putting Louisville in field goal range. After a pass breakup by Marcellus Barnes on third down, kicker Cooper Ranvier knocked a 36-yard field goal through the uprights to cut into SMU’s advantage. The Mustangs lead 7-3 with 4:15 remaining in the first quarter.

SMU starts fast!

The Mustangs received the ball to start the game and took full advantage. SMU went 75 yards on nine plays, taking 4:20 off the clock. A textbook first drive from the home team. Quarterback Kevin Jennings capped the drive off with a two-yard run to the outside for the score. SMU takes the lead over Louisville, 7-0, with 10:40 remaining in the first quarter.
