Garnet Trust, the official NIL collective of University of South Carolina athletics, announced on Monday that it has signed Alex “Boogie” Huntley to a name, image, and likeness (NIL) agreement.

This means one of South Carolina’s impact starters on defense this past season will be returning to the program.

The Hammond School (South Carolina) native signed with South Carolina as part of the 2020 recruiting class and had his best season yet as a redshirt junior.

During the 2023 campaign, Huntley appeared in all 12 games, starting 11 of them. He tallied 33 tackles, four tackles for loss, one forced fumble, two sacks and two passes defended. He also caught a 1-yard touchdown pass in the Gamecocks’ 47-6 victory over Vanderbilt.

Fellow Gamecocks Tonka HemingwayT.J. Sanders and Jalon Kilgore have also publicly indicated that they will be returning for another year in the Garnet and Black.
