South Carolina women's basketball: Bree Hall selected in the WNBA Draft

Bree Hall was selected by the Indiana Fever with the 20th pick in the WNBA Draft on Monday night.
Hall is the 21st Gamecock in program history selected in the WNBA Draft. She is the 17th player of the Dawn Staley era to be selected.
Hall watched the draft from home with her family. She joins her former teammate, Aliyah Boston in Indiana. They won the 2022 national championship together.
She was not expected to be a first round pick. But Hall is an elite defender and good shooter who shot over 38% from three in each of the last two seasons. That made Hall an ideal three-and-D prospect for a team looking to fill out the back end of its roster.

Three of the four members of South Carolina’s top-ranked 2021 recruiting class were drafted on Monday. Sania Feagin was selected one pick after Hall, 21st by Los Angeles. Saniya Rivers, who transferred to NC State following her freshman season, was selected 8th by Connecticut.
