Spencer Rattler talks Nyckoles Harbor, Gamecocks newcomers on offense

Spencer Rattler was among the numerous Gamecocks players and coaches that made efforts to recruit five-star Nyckoles Harbor, who inked a letter of intent with USC back on Wednesday.

Heading into his second season starting for Shane Beamer’s program, Rattler is excited to add a weapon like Harbor to the ranks.

“Watching his tape, watching his track film, you’ve never seen anybody that big, that fast,” Rattler said during an appearance on the Gamecock Central Takeover Hour on Tuesday on 107.5 The Game. “We had to go get somebody like the two could do that type of stuff. I did my best to recruit him, and a lot of other coaches and players.”

Rattler went as far as to say he had not seen a player with the size and speed combination that Harbor will bring to the field.

“I haven’t. That’s very impressive,” said Rattler. “When he visited here last year, at one of those recruit days, I know who he was. I met him and was like wow, OK, that’s very impressive. He’s 6-5, 230, running 10.2, 10.3. We all had a pretty good feeling that he wanted to be here and signing day came and he made the announcement. We’re all fired up to get him down here and get him to work.”
