Tennessee didn’t waste any time in this one, hammering Auburn 12-2 in seven innings behind six home runs on The Plains Saturday afternoon in game two of the Southeastern Conference series.

The Vols (25-6, 6-5 SEC) and Tigers (18-12, 2-9 SEC) will take part in the rubber match game three Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock eastern time. The game will serve as the fourth-straight rubber match for the Vols to open league play.

Tennessee pounded out 12 runs off 13 hits with six home runs in the victory. Auburn was held to just two runs with only three hits in the ballgame. Drew Beam (4-1) earned the win on the mound after a dominant seven-inning showing where he blanked the Tigers and allowed only three hits with seven strikeouts to only one walk. Cade McBride (3-2) is the loser on the mound after allowing five runs in just 1.2 innings of the start.
