Tennessee’s offense scored in bunches while Kirby Connell cruised on the mound in relief for the Volunteers who handled Xavier Tuesday night, 10-2 the final score.

The win marks the 17th-straight at Lindsey Nelson Stadium dating back to last season and snapped a two-game losing-skid entering the contest. Tennessee (19-3) plated the 10 runs off eight hits while Xavier (9-12) scored two runs off four hits.

Connell (2-0) earned the victory after tossing 2.1 innings of relief where he allowed no runs off only one hit. Jonathan Kelly (0-1) took home the loss for the Musketeers after allowing two runs off three hits and a walk during his two-inning start.

The Vols will be back in action at Lindsey Nelson Stadium this weekend with Southeastern Conference foe Ole Miss, but first, here’s how it all went down on a Tuesday night.
