2024 WR Amari Jefferson offered by Texas A&M

2024 Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor School three-star wide receiver Amari Jefferson received an offer from Texas A&M on Monday. He announced the news on Twitter

Jefferson is the No. 457 overall prospect and No. 68 wide receiver in the 2024 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 10 player in Tennessee.

Jefferson holds 12 offers to this time.

An interesting twist in Jefferson’s recruitment

Every once in a while, a football prospect will blow up on the recruiting scene and will have a bit of a different approach to their recruitment than others. Jefferson is one of these as he is also a division one baseball prospect.

In fact, Jefferson is currently committed to Tennessee to play baseball.

Now, it is unclear to this time which direction he will elect to go, but I would expect he plays football at least. It is rare, but there is a possibility he plays both football and baseball while in college. For those that may not know, Texas A&M quarterback Conner Weigman had the option to play both, but elected to stay in football this spring, a wise decision.

Texas A&M, should they choose, has the ability to appeal to both sports for Jefferson. The Aggies are an SEC power on the baseball field just as Tennessee is. Several of the programs to offer Jefferson in football are also strong in baseball such as Florida State, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and others.

It will be interesting to see how how Texas A&M approaches Jefferson’s recruitment and if baseball will be a factor for him or the staff.

Aggies in 2024

To date, Texas A&M holds four commitments in the class of 2024 in four-star Hattiesburg (Miss.) Oak Grove quarterback Anthony Maddox, four-star Longview (Texas) Pine Tree defensive lineman Dealyn Evans, four-star Katy (Texas) Tompkins offensive lineman Ashton Funk, and four-star Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton wide receiver Debron Gatling.

The Aggies 2024 class currently ranks No. 20 in the 2024 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.

Jefferson has an On3 NIL Valuation of $20K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
