ESPN's Desmond Howard predicts Texas A&M to win National Championship on College Gameday

When you turn on the TV on Saturday morning and see the College GameDay crew on ESPN, you know college football is officially back. And with Week 0 underway, the crew of Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and Lee Corso are back together again. David Pollack and Chris Fallica are also seen on the show. With some big matchups in 2022, there is a very good chance Texas A&M is a part of College GameDay this season.
Because Week 0 only provides a handful of games and storylines, the College GameDay crew decided to make some early predictions for the 2022 season, including revealing their conference champions and College Football Playoff picks.
Corso and Herbstreit went with expected picks, both having Ohio State winning the national title. Pollack went a similar route, picking Alabama as the eventual winner of the playoff. Desmond Howard, however, did not follow the pack and chose a bold mix in the playoffs. And I think Texas A&M fans will appreciate his prediction.
In the final four, Howard chose Texas A&M facing Pittsburgh and Michigan facing Baylor in the semi-final rounds. His national championship prediction is the Texas A&M Aggies getting a victory over the Michigan Wolverines.

“I have Michigan playing the Aggies and I have Jimbo Fisher winning the national championship for Texas A&M,” Howard said.
The Path
Texas A&M is No. 6 in the AP preseason poll, which means the path to the playoff is clear: win.
If the Aggies meet their expectations and contend for the SEC championship, odds are high to make the final four. The Aggies have not made the college football playoff since it’s inception in 2014. Texas A&M was only one spot outside the final four in 2020, finishing No. 5, which brought controversy and debate among fans.
Texas A&M will look to erase all controversy and debate in their argument for the playoff this season.
