Observations

*** Looking at the 2022 defensive line class the Aggies signed, here are some key observations on the incoming freshmen: Shemar Stewart officially measures in at 6-foot-4, 285 pounds, one inch shorter, but 15 pounds heavier than he was listed coming out of high school. Lebbeus Overton is listed at 6-foot-5, 285 pounds, two inches taller and over 15 pounds heavier than he was listed in high school. Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy measures in at 6-foot-3, 300 pounds, up 20 pounds than his listed high school weight.

*** Freshman offensive lineman PJ Williams has one of the most drastic weight changes, now listed at 285, nearly 20 pounds heavier than his listed weight in high school. Williams needed some time in the weight room before he would have a chance to contribute at Texas A&M and he’s well on his way to transforming himself into an SEC offensive lineman. In addition, fellow freshman offensive lineman Mark Nabou is listed at 6-foot-4, 345 pounds, a shocking 34 pound weight gain from his listed high school weight.

*** Looking at some of the other freshmen summer enrollees, wide reciever Chris Marshall and safety Jacoby Mathews are both up ten pounds from their listed high school weight, both now listed at 205 pounds. Wide reciever Noah Thomas has added 15 pounds from his listed high school weight, coming in at 6-foot-5, 195 pounds. Tight ends Jake Johnson and Donovan Green are up ten pounds from their listed high school weight, both now coming in at 235 pounds. Fellow freshman tight end Theo Melin Öhrström is now listed at 6-foot-5, 255 pounds, up 12 pounds from his listed high school weight. Running back Le’Veon Moss is up ten pounds, now listed at 5-foot-11, 200 pounds. Defensive back Bobby Taylor is up over 15 pounds from high school, now listed at 6-foot, 190 pounds. Linebacker Matrell Harris is up ten pounds, now listed at 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, fellow freshman linebacker Ish Harris is up 12 pounds, now listed at 6-foot-2, 205 pounds.

** Notably, third-year sophomore defensive lineman Donnell Harris is no longer listed on the roster. We’ll stay tuned for more information on Harris’ status.

*** Sophomore defensive lineman Shemar Turner has dropped 15 pounds, now listed at 6-foot-4, 300 pounds, while redshirt freshman defensive lineman Albert Regis is up 15 pounds, now listed at 6-foot-1, 320 pounds.

** As expected, third-year sophomore Eli Stowers is listed at quarterback after previously being listed as an ‘athlete’ and tight end’ on previous rosters, the former Denton (Tex.) Guyer quarterback is back in the quarterback room likely full-time and will provide valuable depth at the position.

*** Two running backs have made notable weight gains, as junior Earnest Crownover and redshirt freshman LJ Johnson Jr. are both up ten pounds, now listed at 230 pound and 215 pounds, respectively. Taking a look at the offensive linemen, interior offensive lineman Jordan Spasojevic-Moko is down 20 pounds, now listed at 320 pounds, starting guard Layden Robinson is up ten pounds, now listed at 330 pounds and sophomore offensive lineman Josh Bankhead is up 20 pounds, now listed at 6-foot-5, 305 pounds.
