For Corona (Calif.) Oaks Christian cornerback Davon Benjamin, he’s getting closer to his decision. For the Texas Longhorns, they’d love one more defensive back in the Class of 2026.

Benjamin dropped his top five this evening: Texas, Oregon, North Carolina, Washington, and Michigan.

Benjamin took an official visit to Austin in June. They did enough to keep themselves squarely in the hunt for his signature.

Texas, I enjoyed them,” Benjamin told On3. “It’s another school based on their standard. An SEC school, that’s going to really get after it every day. They’re going to put it all there for the kids. You have to come there with that mindset. You got to be a dog to be in there. They aren’t going to just let anybody just come in here with the program. Texas, the SEC mindset, they come in there to play every day. It’s a simple standard that they go about, and they say you have to bring that work every day.”

He’ll make his announcement on August 2nd and tells On3 two schools are standing out: Oregon and Michigan.
