Texas basketball in the SEC: A brave new world

When Texas and Oklahoma set the college athletics landscape on fire last week with news dropping that the Longhorns and Sooners would be leaving the Big 12 for the green pastures of the SEC, the obvious implications focused on football. The SEC’s dominance of the college football world has been followed, documented and discussed ad nauseum seemingly since the moment Saban left the house that Ray Finkle built for Tuscaloosa almost 15 years ago. Add Texas and Oklahoma (two of the top five storied programs in college football history) and you’ve got an already paradigm setting league that just got even more paradigm settingy.
