4-star LB Brayden Platt names top 8 schools, features USC
Yelm (Wash.) four-star linebacker Brayden Platt has narrowed his list of top schools down to eight. That list is made of USC, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas A&M, and UCLA.
The 6-foot-1, 220-pounder is the No. 225 overall prospect and No. 23 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 4 player in Washington.
Platt is a two-way player for Yelm, playing both linebacker and running back. Despite being recruited to play on the defensive side of the ball, his primary production came on the offensive side during his junior season.
In just 117 total carries , Platt ran for 1,176 yards and 24 touchdowns. He averaged an astonishing 10 yards per carry.
On the defensive side of the ball, he was still a major force. He finished the season with 85 total tackles, five tackles for loss, and one sack.
Visit schedule
Platt most recently visited USC in early March. Other programs he has visited in 2023 consist of Oregon, Oklahoma, Michigan, and Michigan State. He is set to visit Oregon once again this upcoming weekend on April 22.
On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine
The 6-foot-1, 220-pound prospect holds 20 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Oregon holds a narrow lead over USC to land a commitment from Platt. The Ducks come in at 23% odds, ahead of USC’s 20.2%.

The Trojans’ 2024 recruiting class currently contains one commit. That us Lake Oswego (Ore.) Lakeridge four-star tight end Joey Olsen. Olsen recently saw his ranking rise in the On300, moving up over 60 spots to No. 173.
