Galveston (Texas) Ball linebacker Jonah Williams is one of the most sought-after recruits in the nation in the Class of 2025. He released his top 12 schools list on Wednesday and the USC Trojans made the cut.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound On3 Industry Ranking five-star holds 26 offers, but only Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, USC, Tennessee, Oklahoma, LSU, Texas A&M, TCU, Colorado, and Arizona State made the final list.

Williams earned his offer from USC on May 1 and has since progressed his relationship with linebackers coach Brian Odom. He has not yet visited Los Angeles.

On3 Evaluation

“Rangy linebacker prospect who is a menace in space. Has the long speed and fluidity to function in space as a zone or man defender in the passing game. Excellent frame and build for an inside linebacker. Measured in at 6-foot-3, 210 pounds during summer campus visits and has plenty of room to fill out. Tested well in explosive drills during camp settings. Impressive baseball prospect as well as a pitcher and outfielder. Sideline to sideline speed is easy for him, covers ground in a hurry. One of the more physically impressive recruits in the 2025 recruiting cycle. High upside prospect whose best football is ahead of him.”

Williams, the 2022 District 9-5A-I overall MVP as a sophomore, is also a standout on the baseball field. He’s left-handed, pitches and plays outfield. He’s highly regarded on the diamond like his older brother Nick Williams, who currently plays baseball in South Korea.

Williams is the No. 15 overall prospect and No. 2 linebacker in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 3 player in Texas.

RPM was released to the public in December 2021. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.
