The USC men’s basketball team looks to get back into the win column this week with a home game against Eastern Washington on Wednesday night.

* USC forward Josh Morgan had a career-high and a school-record 10 blocks vs. Seton Hall on Nov. 23. Morgan has 20 blocks in USC’s first 6 games for an average of 3.3 blocks per game. His 10-block game is also the most by any player in a Div. I game this season. The previous USC record for blocks in a game was 8. Morgan now has 112 career blocks as a Trojan, 10th on USC’s all-time career blocks list. Morgan has also made 16-of-19 shots this season, good for an 84.2% clip.

* Eastern Washington Eagles (1-5) is coming off an 82-72 loss at Washington State on Nov. 27. Forward Cedric Coward leads four Eagles averaging double figures in scoring with a 13.0 average. USC won 69-51 in its only other meeting with Eastern Washington, in the second round of the Great Alaska Shootout on Nov. 25, 2005.

* USC held 3 of its first 6 opponents to less than 40 percent shooting. Oklahoma shot 50% from the floor, which is just the third time in the last two seasons a team has made 50 percent or more of its shots against the Trojans’ defense.

* Through the first six games this season, the Trojans have held its opponents to 39.3% shooting. USC held its opponents to a 39.3 shooting percentage last season, 8th in the country.

* Guards Boogie Ellis (20.2), Isaiah Collier (18.2) and Kobe Johnson (14.8) are all averaging over 14.5 points per game. They also are combining to average 10.2 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 4.5 steals in the Trojans’ 6 games, despite Johnson missing two games and Ellis one. USC is one of four Power 6 teams with 3 guards averaging at least 14.5 points through Nov. 27 (also Kentucky, Miami – Fla, Wake Forest).
