The first late-night kickoff of the season for the USC Trojans is set as they will host the Michigan State Spartans at the Coliseum on September 20 with an 8 pm PT kickoff.

The game will air live on FOX and follow the IowaRutgers game. That’s another very late start for an Eastern Time Zone team playing in Los Angeles. Last season, Rutgers visited for an 8 pm kickoff on a Friday night. USC scored touchdowns on its first four possessions of that game as the Scarlet Knights were never competitive. Michigan State will be coming off a home game against Youngstown State, while the Trojans will be back from a road trip to Purdue.

These two programs are tied 4-4 in their series history. Michigan State has won the past three games, though they haven’t played in 35 years. USC’s last win came in 1978.

USC opened the season with back-to-back 4:30 pm PT kickoffs against Missouri State and Georgia Southern. The Trojans will kick at 12:30 pm PT (3:30 pm local time) when they visit Purdue this weekend. Other known kickoff times for USC this season include a 4:30 pm PT (7:30 pm local time) kick at Notre Dame on Oct. 18, a 6:00 pm PT Friday night kickoff against Northwestern on Nov. 7 and either a 12:00 or 12:30 pm PT kickoff against Iowa on Nov. 15.
