Fresh off a June 3-5 USC official visit, elite Las Vegas (NV) Safety Jett Washington announced plans to visit Oregon this weekend versus next weekend.

Although we haven’t talked much about USC and Washington throughout the process, he’s been among the top targets for Doug Belk and the Trojans since early on in the recruiting process.

Washington arrived on Tuesday and departed earlier today. While he’s not sure if he’ll have time to return to USC prior to announcing a school choice, Washington second visit to USC provided Lincoln Riley and staff an opportunity to make their case.

“I don’t think I will have time to come back,” said Washington. “But they showed me how they plan on using me and that I can be apart of something special.”

Washington watched practice at USC this spring and sat in on meetings. The No. 1 player in Nevada also spent time with multiple staff members, including head coach Lincoln Riley, defensive coordinator D’Anton Lynn and secondary coach Doug Belk

“I got to spend a good amount of time with each one of them,” Washington said. “It was great being around them. They showed me where I fit in their defense and showed me what they do on a daily basis. My favorite things about the experience was the overall energy and good vibes.

“What excites me about the Trojans is what their future looks like and what they are building. They are definitely up there after this visit and it checked a lot of boxes.”

Oregon’s up next

Washington rescheduled his official visit to Oregon for this weekend. He’ll now join a loaded official visitor list that’s set to include fellow five-stars in cornerback Brandon Arrington, linebacker Tyler Atkinson and Edge Richard WesleyOther top blue-chippers will be on campus, too.

“My last visit to Oregon was great,” Washington told Simmons. “It is a great program and they are recruiting me as hard as anyone. Coach (Chris) Hampton is a great coach, Coach Lanning has the program going up and I liked it a lot when I was up there.”

Last weekend, Washington was in Tuscaloosa for an official visit with Alabama. The Crimson Tide made a big splash and are contending for the Sin City standout.

“Relationships are very important, then seeing where I fit in their defense, what their plan for me is and the culture at each school are the biggest things for me,” Washington told On3 about what he’s looking for in his home at the next level. “I want to play in a winning culture. The NIL is part of it too. You have to take it for what it is now, it is part of the process and I am looking at that too.”

Washington is the No. 27 overall prospect and No. 3 safety in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the top-ranked player in Nevada.
