Chip Trayanum entered the transfer portal on Wednesday and immediately became one of the better running backs available on the board. Now, one program has already earned a visit from the former Buckeye back just a day later.

Per Steve Wiltfong at 247, Trayanum has already scheduled a visit to Kentucky.

Trayanum finished as the second-leading rusher for Ohio State last season. He ran for 373 yards and three touchdowns on 85 carries as a senior this season. He also had his best season as a pass-catcher, albeit not a significant part of his game so far in college, with nine receptions for 53 yards.

Between his four total seasons at Arizona State and in Columbus, Trayanum has rushed for 1,157 yards and 13 touchdowns on 227 carries.

Trayanum played high school football at Archbishop Hoban where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 285 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He finished as a Top-30 RB as well as the No. 5 player out of Ohio in his class.

Now, in the portal, he is the No. 12 RB available and the No. 187 player overall per On3’s Industry Ranking. If he were to commit, he would join former Georgia QB Brock Vandagriff after he committed to the Wildcats on Wednesday. That would come after the Wildcats have presently lost a dozen players via transfer.

With Ray Davis, another running back transfer, now off to the next level, Mark Stoops and Liam Coen are looking for a new one to lead their rushing attack. That player could be Trayanum depending on how his reported visit to the bluegrass goes over the weekend.
