After it was revealed Tuesday that former Pittsburgh receiver Jordan Addison was on an official visit to Texas, more news came out the next day. Video from Longhorns receiver Xavier Worthy‘s social media surfaced that appeared to show Addison posing in a Texas jersey.

Although the video is just two seconds long, Addison can be seen in the background wearing a white Longhorns uniform. USC is also expected to be in the mix for Addison — the top player available in the transfer portal, according to the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings.

In 2021 for Pitt, Addison had 100 receptions for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns as Kenny Pickett’s top target and won the Biletnikoff Award. He arrived in Pittsburgh as the No. 218 recruit in the Class of 2020, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Since then, he became a five-star college prospect, according to the On3 College Rating, and the No. 1 receiver in the country, as well as the nation’s No. 4 player.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Jordan Addison has just a 3.9% chance at landing in Texas for next season. Compare that to the Trojans, who have a 96.1% chance at getting the star receiver to commit, and it seems like a longshot.

But the fact that he made a trip to Austin certainly makes things interesting, and perhaps Steve Sarkisian and his staff can convince him to join their offensive attack in 2022. The Longhorns already quarterback Quinn Ewers, receiver Agiye Hall and tight end Jahleel Billingsley through the transfer portal to an offense that already included Worthy and running back Bijan Robinson.

If they can somehow beat out Lincoln Riley and USC for Addison, it would set the bar even higher for Sarkisian’s sexons year as head coach.
