Cliff Notes on Ole Miss' nefarious deeds?

I have been in (very) blissful ignorance of all things Ole Miss football and recruiting-related for the last few months (even though I used to be a recruiting junkie). But I came in for a peek and saw that we've apparently turned some big MSU recruits into OM recruits and now MSU is calling...

Man, you guys are killing Swindoll's board ...

I haven't read an MSU board in a long time, but I checked out this board and Gene's Page and it seems like everyone has moved over here. I can remember when you guys were the upstart board getting 1/20th the traffic of Gene's Page. Nice job.

    More comments from the Cabbie

and by the way, here is AK's side of the story from the CL blog: Andy Kennedy is not talking to members of the media about his arrest in Cincinnati early this morning, but his brother Steve Kennedy agreed to tell me the story Andy has told him. The following is the story he told me: "The team...

Just heard more to the Petersen story

People would be amazed to know how much stuff goes on during coaching searches that never sees the light of day. For example, I know for a 100% fact that, when Ole Miss was looking to replace Cutcliffe, we had a meeting set up at the DFW airport with Rick Neuheisel. Some people at Ole Miss were...

As much I'm pro-blog, take this with a grain of salt....

I expect that Byrne and Petersen did meet in Denver. Whether Petersen is genuinely interested, doing a favor for a friend to prop up MSU, and/or get more money out of BSU I don't know. But I will never be surprised to hear about a coach playing footsie with another school because that's how they...

Since some of you were concerned about Nutt earlier....

seriously, he's just below Chuck on the spirit board as the go-to guy for info.

The one downside of Petersen for MSU would be ...

it's been a while since MSU fans went through that. Actually, I don't think you ever did. Nowadays it's even worse since there's even less loyalty from either programs or coaches. It's all "what have you done for me lately?"

The one downside of Petersen for MSU would be ...

I've been hoping Nutt will convert - we could have Tom Cruise do the "are you ready?" introduction on the Jumbotron.

The one downside of Petersen for MSU would be ...

he's a great game-day coach but needs to show me more as a recruiter. There seems to be little enthusiasm for him among the Auburn fans so I seriously doubt he will be hired by them. Regardless, I hope we keep him but won't jump off a bridge if we don't.

The one downside of Petersen for MSU would be ...

No doubt, and I said he would be a good hire. But if you think you won't also be buying constant drama when big job openings come up then you would be mistaken.

The one downside of Petersen for MSU would be ...

that if he has success, and he likely will, his name will come up for every major coaching job there is. I've thought many times in the past that Stansbury was a brilliant hire for MSU because he wins but, for whatever reason, he's not attractive to the major programs. When Sherrill was winning...
