If we don't, we never deserve to win in ANYTHING ever again.Discuss amongst yourselves.
He won a natty for God's sake. The least we can do is a proper tribute like we have done for Will and Raffy.

This gave me an idea. Maybe we could start up a yearly rivalry series with The Citadel (or Indiana) and play for the “Bronze Bucket”.He won a natty for God's sake. The least we can do is a proper tribute like we have done for Will and Raffy.

This. It will be six years from now. No players of his should still be at State. Ideally the program will be back to competing at a level that people want. Honor him and put him in the Ring of Honor. Surely any hurt feelings will have subsided by then.No. Not 10 Years From Now.
I’d do it sooner.
2031 - 10 year anniversary
Honor the Whole Team by putting the Team on the Wall of Honor and Lemonis separately as an individual
All he did was miss the tournament twice, something every coach outside of Pat McMahon did. How does that offset the only team national title in school history?Nope.

What he said. Not sure about 10 years from now, but I do know who I'd put on there before him:
Mangum
T. Allen
Bednar
Sims
I disagree. If he makes it at all, it should only be with the team. He did nothing to deserve individual recognition.Honor the Whole Team by putting the Team on the Wall of Honor and Lemonis separately as an individual
Well, we fired him. I look forward to never missing the tournament again. He is responsible for 2+ of the worst baseball seasons this 60+ year old guy remembers. There was FAR MORE CRAPTASTIC crap that happened in those 2+ seasons than just "missing the tournament". I sat in left field lounge and watched almost every one of those 2+ seasons and we major league sucked and it was so much worse than just not getting a few games in Hoover. We won't be missing this years tournament because everybody gets to go now, otherwise we would be first team out at this point in the standings
Way more than just those three from the national championship team. I've got no animosity towards him, but if a coach just automatically deserves the ring of honor for winning a national championship, then it seems like every significant contributor on that team also automatically deserves it. Ignoring Mangum, who obviously deserves it for what he did over his career, and just focusing on the championship team, you have several no brainers that go before Lemonis:Not sure about 10 years from now, but I do know who I'd put on there before him:

So did a lot of players in 2021. I don't get why he would automatically get in and not a bunch of players. Normally, the argument that the coach is a huge part of any team would be pretty persuasive, but looking at what happened after a lot of those players left, it seems clear that the players were taking care of a lot of the culture/locker room aspects of the program also.Yes. He won a NC. Doesn’t matter his record after.

Rowdey Jordan.
But if you look at the all tournament team, you also had Luke Hancock, Lane Forsythe, and Logan Tanner. Logan Tanner may belong in the no brainer category. I think Luke deserves it between the national championship and being one of our top OBP guys for four years. Forsythe? I think that's probably where Lemonis makes it in before a significant player.
Holy straw manWell, we fired him. I look forward to never missing the tournament again.
Ok. Steel man it for me. Was Lemonis the problem or not? Are there other issues outside of Lemonis? If so, what are they? Will we convince a sitting head coach to take the job? If not, why not? Will the next coach miss the tournament?Holy straw man
No, there are not issues outside of Lemonis. He was 100 % the problem. All of the symptoms are traced back to the head coach. We had money kids would not take. Yes, we will more than likely hire a sitting head coach. If not, it will be one of the top assistant coaches in the country and it will be because most baseball coaches don’t move around very much when they have a really good job. The next coach may or may not miss the tournament, but if he is on track to miss it 3 out of 4 years once his roster is all his I wouldn’t think there would be much debate that he is a sh*tty baseball coach.Ok. The reason I think he should be in the ROH has little to do with Chris Lemonis. It has to do with the legacy of the one and only NC in our entire history. I think putting him in helps to enhance that legacy and keeping him out diminishes it. That is just my opinion though. I understand the other side of the argument too and it is not without merit. He doesn't deserve it, IMO. Us floundering around and keeping him around for longer than he should have proved that most of the reason we won early in his career here was due to the previous coaching staff rosters that they left him. He just isn't a very good baseball coach and he won't be hired as a head coach by anyone else that takes baseball seriously for the rest of his career. He deserves to be thanked for the amazing 2021 Championship, but the players on that team that he largely inherited had a lot more to do with it than he did. He is the Larry Coker of college baseball. I agree with a previous poster who said we need to honor that team as a whole and acknowledge him within that honor as the head coach of the team. Not him individually.
