Jackson isnt safe but "if we really love Jackson, we need to trust Jackson to make its own decisions. We need to give up on the idea of keeping it "safe," and have faith in the fundamental goodness of the people of this city."

I'm on the coast, but saw the "complex" plans on the news. I didn't realize every cinema in Jackson had closed--all of them? When I lived in Jackson in the '90s, the "Northeasterners" seemed to rule the city. The last time I visited, you needed a Humvee or tracked vehicle to navigate over the streets in NE Jackson. To me, the roads were better in the heart of the city than the Eastover area. So everyone is moving to the 'burbs now?

I think Jackson's last movie theater was Ellis Isle. I went there circa 1988.
Amazing. I remember going downtown to the Lamar and Paramount for movies and I'm not even 50.
