I know im a South Iredell fan but i was pulling for Hickory like it was my on team

Both teams were good and it was a great game but I’m impressed with that (Junior) QB from Hickory! He looks like a true QB and not just a glorified RB that occasionally throws the ball. That said the QB from 71st is a phenomenal athlete.

WOW ! What a game-What a team. The Hickory Red Tornadoes and Cheerduck are definitely an EF-5, along with being the 2023 3A State Champions.

Definitely the best ballgame I seen all season long. Yes hats off to 71st and the season they had. They definitely will be back next year.

Not true. @shutdownD24 and Myself mentioned throughout the year how Hickory was a dark horse in 3A.
It doesn’t if you’re a good team but for some reason they’ll still bring this up next year when the playoffs roll around.
Seriously. Everybody is always like “these tough games in august prepare us for the postseason”. No it just means you’re going to be a 14 seed and go play these tough *** teams 2 rounds earlier. Playing cupcakes all year gives you home field throughout the playoffs. You can deal with the “quality opponents” as they get more difficult round by round. Y’all enjoy your tough schedules and Pat yourselves on the back in week 4 when you go play butler or weddington and have to play independence in the second round lol.
Tough schedules beat you up too. If you don't have the depth it can be bad.
What I’ve noticed is the teams that are legitimately competing for a title hardly ever bring up schedules because they could care less who you’ve played in the regular season.
