I haven't seen that this thread has been started...but maybe I'm blind. If I've posted this with another thread....my apologies.

In my personal experiences it is very hard to beat a team in the playoffs that you lost to in the regular season, it rarely happens and I don't believe it happens this Friday. Point in case Forbush whooping North Surry in their second meeting as an example this year already (45-27 in season and 55-8 in Round 1).

East Surry has been dominant and even though Newton gave them the ole "whatfor" in the first half...East Surry's defense proved themselves and stayed true throughout that whole game while their offense got their footing. East Surry doesn't blink and doesn't look back. They'll be tested soon enough for a full game but not this round. East leads 21-3 at halftime and will win 42-10.

ES should roll in this one. I think Forbush has enough to keep it interesting for maybe a half. They are very physical and could grind some clock if ES can’t get them off the field.

Forbush played inspired this past Friday. Our thoughts and prayers are still with the Forbush community.
Hopefully the offense will be back in rythm this week. The defense rose to the occasion last Friday against a better than their record showed Newton Conover squad. 42-7 East Surry is my guess. Hoping for a good, injury free game.

East Surry, this Mt Airy fan is asking you to continue to make this county proud and take care of business tonight. Go Cardinals!

Appreciate it, one thing to remember, tonight some of these young men will suit up for the last time in a high school football uniform. As long as I'm in my right mind I'll never forget my oldest sons last game. 2014 we played Avery in the 1st round of the playoffs. The week before they beat Mt. Airy at Mt Airy. A game that on paper they should have lost by at least 3-4 tds. Probably the best game I've ever watched personally. They should have handled Avery with no problem and faced Mt Airy in the 2nd round. However they lost. My son was the last player of ours off the field. Naturally he was heartbroken and upset. I didn't have the words to help him. I told him that it would be alright and tried to hug him. He told me that it wasn't alright. He asks me if I know how long forever was. I told him yeah it's a long time. He said it would be forever before he ever had the opportunity to wear that uniform and step on that field as a player again. He's since went on through college and has has a fairly successful Nascar career as a crew member. He says the only thing almost as close to the same feeling as walking down the steps and across the bleachers at East Surry on a Friday night is being on pit road at Bristol when they fired the engines. Not the same but close.

Good luck to all the teams still playing. Safe travels to Forbush this evening. Hoping for a competitive and safe game.
