Totally incomplete and misleading data.
And another example of the incompetence of the NCHSAA to waste time and money generating garbage.
This listing ignores the accomplishments of some of the best, proven public high school programs smack in the middle of North Carolina from 1972 to 1976.
All public high schools did NOT come under the governance of the EXPANDED NCHSAA until 1977.
AND THEY FULLY KNOW AND UNDERSTAND THAT FACT.
Yet they continue to use 1972 as the benchmark year for records, ignoring several top programs in the process.
Why 1972?
Because that marks the return of statewide titles, but only within the NCHSAA. Not all public high schools.
Why not use 1977 as the benchmark date?
It makes entirely too much sense. All public schools are included, just 5 years later.
There is a dirty little secret why.
Most on the current NCHSAA staff have no clue.
But Que does. And some of the others.
Because we have called them out on this several times before.
We will happily pile on this incompetent group until they clearly set the records straight.

Those WNCHSAA titles have no more value than a 3rd round win in the NCHSAA playoffs. That’s probably why the NCHSAA doesn’t recognize them as actual state titles.

Reidsville gets to count state Titles under a different name.
Shelby want state Titles in a different league.

I wonder who has the most State Titles in NC under one name and one league?
Robbinsville

Robbinsville averages a State Titles every

I read somewhere yesterday that Reidsville had 20-something titles. They have never been in the WNCHSAA and always went by Reidsville. They played Mount Airy from the 1930s up till the 1960s and maybe earlier.

They use to be the Reidsville Golden lions until 1960s.
I think they combined with Booker High school and became Reidsville Rams.
Their record book has it broke down into three separate parts.
1. Reidsville Golden lions
2. Booker T.
2. Reidsville Rams

Robbinsville used to be the Blue Devils.
We don't count anything from that time.

Yes they have 21 I think. Of course that's over 120 yrs of football.

1969 they combined with Booker and became the Rams.

They say they have 21 or 22 state title but 3 of those was in the 60s when they didn't have true state championships. And one was a tie with Brevard in 63. They also tied with Laurinburg 6-6 in 1943.
Also in 1946 some records show a title by mistake. The Golden Lions didn't even have a winning record that year.

Are we counting ties and the 1960s titles?
If so Robbinsville needs to count the ones in the 60s.
