James Kenan (4-6) @ Tarboro (9-2) - What a first round match-up that I thought would never happen because these 2 programs have been elite in the East the past 10 or so years. JK had some injuries during the year and that's the reason for a down year to their standards.

Trask (7-4) @ Union (7-4) - A rematch from an earlier game as the Titans pulled at a 28-21 win over Union. I expect another tough game Friday night.

Walkertown (6-5) @ East Wilkes (8-3) - Walkertown has played a tough non-conference schedule and they are better than their record shows. East Wilkes is pretty tought at home so I expect a very good game here in Ronda.

North Stanly at Swain has potential to be a good one...hope East Wilkes has a good secondary...get ready for the deep ball

Swain does not have an outstanding passing attack this year, or honestly that explosive run game that everyone is use to seeing from them. They do however, have a grind it out run style this year (more so than usual) and a huge back that is probably bigger than most linemen in the state. Their QB can scramble pretty good and is extremely good at throwing the underneath routes.

Swain will kill North Stanly.

North Moore and Bessemer City. Will be a good one.

Dear God have you ever see Swain play? It's at Swain. Stay within four touchdowns and get back to me, I will gladly eat crow. Actually that's all that I've seen North Stanly do since they came into the league with all this supposed great talent and what have they done - not won bleep.

I have seen them play in the past , was wondering how strong they were this year 5-6 ( I know a real tough schedule).

Perhaps I should add more. Your only quality win was against a banged up North Moore team 35-28. Teams you have beaten are 19-57, or a 33% winning percentage. 12-53 if you don't include North Moore. So I just see no way you beat Swain. Sorry.

Yeah, many times including a 35-28 game I'm sure you remember in Biscoe.

As stated earlier "this year", but yes I remember the 35-28 game atleast once a month. It was much worse a couple years earlier up there. ( Heath Shuler x 2) .For all you WM history buffs, what future NFL players were on teams that eliminated the warriors on their many deep play off runs?

I'm not sure ,maybe one?I was just wondering if WM has ever been eliminated by a future NFL player in their deep runs . A legitimate question , I thought?

Just for your history lesson, em has never played for a state championship in football. Candor did in 1960 in as eight-man football, lost to Bath in a game played at old Troy High School field. WM has played three state champion games and five final fours. Em has played in two final fours and lost them both

I never said they did , I wish there was as a true way to compare teams over generations. The 1990 EM team ( in my opinion) would crush all WM s teams in the last 20 years.

100% I'll put my actual name up at the exact same time as everyone else. I also know something else I bet you don't know or you would have mentioned it , Coach Garman was a live scout for the 1990 EM team.

I just assumed you would try and get WM credit for Garman scouting for EM . Kinda surprising I had to bring it up , but not as surprising as a Pulitzer Prize writer not knowing how to spell "Shuler" who finished 2nd in the 1993 Heisman voting .

This is an interesting 1st rd game in the west. the NS Swain should give the folks in the YVC an idea of how good Swain is since they all know NS so well.

I think EM has been to atleast 4 final fours , 87, 88, 90, 91 . As far as "proper names" you got me there , but I'm pretty sure the QB we are talking about spells it 1 way "Shuler". It's ok JW , I m crushing you with facts tonight , tomorrow is another day ❤️. Also in your above message I don't think " their " is the correct spelling.

It's much harder to figure out for WM I'm sure since they've probably play 10 times the number of playoff games.
