I enjoy Romo, and don't understand a lot the flak he gets (maybe some), but completely disagree with the shot at Peyton. Dude is basically the coach on every team he's been on. His pro teams, aside from the Broncos the last two years, haven't been good, I don't know where that came from. Being the #1 pick means your teams is probably going to blow for 3 more years. When he missed a year the Colts won 1 game. That dude makes it happen every year, and he's doing it after 17 years starting QB, 40 years old, with some serious neck and back injuries under his belt.

I'm not saying he's the best ever, but keep this in mind, as he's compared to Tom Brady constantly: No Belicheck, No Robert Kraft, No Defense. The one area of Peyton's team I'd give the definite advantage over is running back with Addai and James throughout the years. Gronk's performance over the last few years, in my opinion, had evened out the "which QB had better receivers" category a bit.

The only stat people can use for Romo is his fourth quarter comebacks, when his picks are the reason they have to come back to begin with .

No. Romo's legit good, usually around the 10th best in DVOA and similar all in one stats. Last year he was pretty amazing, especially considering he had a broken rib. Career 97.7 passer rating (not the best stat, but easy to find), which is excellent. Last year was the 5th best QBR of all-time (goes back to ~2006, iirc, so all-time means last 10 years). People remember come backs and flubs, but comprehensive looks tend to offer a better analysis. By any measure, Romo is a top 10-ish QB.

I assume "Romo gonna Romo" means he'll be efficient and be a top 10 QB in the league. Otherwise it's just Cowherd nonsense.

His pro teams, aside from the Broncos the last two years, haven't been good, I don't know where that came from.

For a stretch the Colts teams were really good in all areas of the game (2004-2008 area, like top 5 DVOA defenses and the like... really), and this year's Broncos (and last years) have outstanding defenses. The Colts weren't perfect in building teams around him (particularly depth, O-line, LBs), but they did a good job overall.

Week 2

No way Bengals win because of proximity to Towles. F the Chargers.

My FF team will waltz to victory.

Football sucks.

Agree/disagree?

The colts were smart in building there teams but by no means we're they great. It was totally geared around Peyton and his ability to stay on the field so that helped his defense, and management banked on them being ahead so they got some very good pass rushers to speed up the opposing QB and some solid safeties to make sure that when they got burnt the safety was good enough to make the plays.

That sounds simple and obvious but it's exactly why the Jags when good and San Diego and most of all New England handled Peyton. They ran the ball and did not feed to Indy's strength......Pittsburgh I believe had some success against Indy during that time too.

It's essentially why once Peyton was gone, that even with talented names Indy's was awful! The pass rushers did not matter because they were losing and there defense was tired and worn out after being on the field most of the game.

Of course any team losing a Peyton Manning is going to struggle though.

I have no clue what your conclusion is after reading this.

Dez Bryant maybe done as well they are saying he could be out 10-12 weeks now and his injury is similar to Marvin jones. The bengals played great today except for nugents missed field goal. I honestly thought Jeremy hill was down on his first fumble. The dudes a beast but gio isn't far off he's got the speed and moves that hill doesn't have. The bengals d is great as well. This is the year they have to win Atleast 1 playoff game because guys like whit, smith, Leon hall and a few others are free agents. I think they will resign whit, but they will let smith go since they have fisher and the dude from a&m

Refs gave the Jags a FG to end half by spotting ball 3 yards closer than foul occurred on a BS penalty play to end half. Their kicker then hit the bottom of the crossbar and it fell forward for 3. The refs killed Miami all day with the timing of their penalties. Always extending Jags drives, or killing ours. No excuses though.. .500 Philbin's *** better make the playoffs this year or he's done. 1-1 and still no home game yet, and only have 7 this year as giving up 1 home game to London, the first team to be screwed like that by losing a "Divisional" game to London\ when the host the Jets their in a few weeks.

Cowboys are still the favorites after losing their freaking QB, how crazy is that?

This usually always backfires, but I really don't see how my Jets can lose to the Eagles this weekend. They are dipping into their 2nd string RB, Bradford is the damn QB, and the team as a whole just sucks. They are fast, but that's about it. I think their only chance is for Fitzpatrick to throw them the ball 3-4 times. The Jets Offense is still developing, but Bradford and Co. are going to have a tough time scoring on NY.

The NFC East is just hot garbage now. Washington/Giants tonight gives them 1 win and 1 loss, expecting an Eagles loss this week. Falcons/Dallas may be a toss-up, but no Romo/Dez is going to kill them.

NFC East will probably be 4-8 come Week 4, and that's mainly because of 3 divisional match ups already.

8 or 9 wins may win the NFC East and Cowboys already have 2.

Jets will be hard to beat all year if they keep getting 5 to's a game. Look better than my flat Dolphins so far but it's a week to week league, I hope they come out on fire against Bills this week.

Why did the Browns draft Manziel?

Packers and Cardinals look best in NFC so far. Freekin Pats again in AFC and who knows who else.. Bengals? Never won a playoff game with Dalton and Lewis.

I'm more excited to watch the Cincy/Memphis game than this NFL turd tonight.

Welp....the Steelers season is likely over. Roethlisberger injury doesn't look good at all. Bengals will win division with ease if Steelers don't have him.

Wow! What a game!

Steelers lose in OT, and I was more than happy to be a Ravens fan for one night. [winking]

If the Bengals can take care of KC this weekend, that'll be a nice spot in the driver's seat for their division.

Only the bengals would of found another way to lose that game. Nothing in football is sweeter than watching the steelers lose. Especially that way and at home

The Browns just invent new ways to lose they are bad. I see them or Jacksonville in the afc and Detroit/49ers or da dears from the nfc in the toilet bowl this year

The Saints need OT to beat the Cowboys on SNF.

There must be some primetime magic in the air. The SUN and THU night games have been a lot of fun to watch, so far.

Scheduling is becoming quite a coincidence with the NFL. I'm no conspiracy guy but it seems like when the redzone channel is in play the games on cable TV are awful, and when it isn't the games have a ton of drama.

Yday instead of Cinci/KC I got Indy/Jax and NYG/Buffalo. Of course it didn't matter as Alvin and the chipmunks and spongebob dominate the TVs in my house.

AFC East is grabbing a wildcard, and then one from either the AFC North (Steelers?) or South (Chargers?). I could honestly see Buffalo and the Jets both getting the wildcards. Neither have tough schedules left with the exception of the Patriots.

NFC South and West will each get a wildcard.. The North and East are hot garbage..

It's tough trying to figure out the contenders this year for the 2 worst teams. Right now Cleveland and Detroit are light years away from other bad teams. Miami is going ground on Cleveland

Detroit should be firing it's coach and possibly GM. I understand letting Suh go based on the money, but Fairley was legit too and worth signing. As is our defense is solid, and our offense is average, and that's sad with a Stafford, Calvin and Tate group.

No reason this team is 0-4, and one of if not the most penalized team out there.

Oh well, I'm not cheering for 0-16 like I did once upon a time, but a good draft pick would be appreciated at this point.

Steelers could easily be 3-5 by the time Ben gets back. That loss will hurt.

Most definitely. And when he returns, it's reasonable to expect it to take him a couple of weeks to be back to where he was. So say they split those next 2 and enter the bye week at 4-6. Not very likely to make the playoffs from there. Add in that the last 6 games are much tougher than the first 10 (SEA, IND, CIN, DEN and rival BAL, before finishing up w/ the lowly Browns), = no January plans for Steelers.

Impressive comeback by Cinci. I know it's still early but it sure looks like they've got the AFC North all but wrapped up.

Steelers might have stayed close with Ben but they'll struggle to even make the playoffs now.

Did Andy Dalton finally lose his virginity? No? Well, whatever he's done, it has given him a little swag. Seems like a totally different dude. ****, I bet he's wearing his shirt untucked and watching them skin flicks on Cinemax too. Prolly just mouths the words to the hymns at church. No longer says God Bless to people after they sneeze...well, he stiill does, just not all the time, and when he does it now, he says that **** so low they can't even hear him. .

Detroit really sucks! We lost Suh and Fairley and everything they covered up is now exposed. Stafford was always capable of losing or winning but now the offense is in bad positions and he is a fan of the other team.

At least we did focus on the Oline last offseason and the defense really just needs a few tweaks and we can be competitive once again next year.

The Cowboys will do well to win any games with Weeden at qb. I think all the Romo bashers are finding out what it's really going to be like when he's gone. Dallas has not drafted a halfway decent qb since 89.
