Not me. I'm knee deep in college football and no extra time to research world cup. @Erial_Lion must have something going on, but he's been quite lately. Some shocking upsets so far.

gotcha.

@Erial_Lion hasn't posted in over a week. I assumed he be very active in the World Cup threads. I hope all is well with him.

Spain gets a goal just before regulation, to make it 6-0.

They are playing 8 minutes off stoppage time. (Nice thing about contests at lower levels, it one team is up 6-0, the ref rarely adds stoppage time.)

And early in stoppage time, Spain scores again to make it 7-0.
So, being down a game, Germany will really try to RUTS against Costa Rica if they beat or draw with Spain on Sunday.

France 4-1 Australia, full-time. Good soccer. France looking the best of the 16 teams active so far.
France also has the best kits. My favorite team not the US.

I know that Alphonso Davies is an elite level player and Canada’s highest caliber player, but I do not see him as a natural penalty taker. I think they would’ve had a better shot with Jonathan David. It’s too bad that they are now down 0-1 when they’ve had the majority of the chances.

Canada controlled the first half.

Uruguay v. South Korea just started on FS1. Half of the starting lineup for South Korea is named Kim. o_O

Yeah, soccer is a good sport to watch while cleaning your house.

Suarez is 35, starting. I’ve had a soft spot for Uruguay ever since Diego Forlan enthralled me in the 2010 World Cup.

My God, Uruguay missed scoring on a beautiful sequence, a long pass and a great crossing. Whiffed when it counted.

Uruguay nearly went up 1-0. Header on a set piece hit the post.

Uruguay’s Valverde nearly breaks the tie in the 90th minute. Great strike hit the post. Then going the other way, Son missed a good chance. Just entered stoppage time (7 minutes) scoreless.

Ronaldo pulls a Ghana player to the ground and then puts the ball in the net, foul, goal doesn’t count. No score at 37’.

good call, IMHO. He pushed the Ghanese defender to the ground, which gave him the wide-open opportunity.

0-0 at the half

Watched Suarez and could not forget Glov struggling to defend that dirty bastard while he played for Liverpool. RIP, Glov, you did good.

Well, that didn’t last long. Portugal back in the lead. 2-1, 78th minute. Back and forth.

That happened so quickly that Ghana players on the bench were still celebrating their match-tying goal.

Brazil dominates Serbia. Final: 2-0

Serbia had just four shots and none on goal.
