What?? This is getting ridiculous.

It is ridiculous, but it is also free market at its best and worst. Went down a level, really flourished, goes back up a level.

She made it work for her, good for her, not so good for the sport.

Also Saniya Rivers has been in the portal 5 weeks.

I get that but I think she could easily start at another power 5. Sure maybe not a contender but many programs could have used her.
How many schools have that master's degree program in nutrition she is seeking?

Way more than you asked for. Also you can a Masters of Public Health with a speciality in nutrition

I didn't see UNF on your list, but I did see that Clemron has such a program........

At this point, I believe the following:
  1. She knows that she's turning pro in something other than basketball and wants to play for the joy of it.
  2. By starting Graduate School, academics have a significantly higher priority for her.

New graduate Assistant coach on board. DS can hire just about anybody for this position. Ms. Moore while not a star player must have aced the interview and had impeccable references. She has already earned one master’s degree at Milwaukee

Actually UNF is on the list, but under the online degree section. Which I found curious, maybe she can get her Masters faster this way🤷‍♂️ Anyway, she has put in the work and sacrifice here, wishing nothing but good things for her.

They pick up 6’5” River Baldwin, 6’3” Mimi Collins and Saniya in the portal.
The recruiting class was a failure, a lone 3* pg recruit.
Only one returning starter Jakia Brown-Turner and ACC 6th POY Diamond Johnson. A talented roster but not nearly as good as last year.
NCAA tourney team but I doubt they can crack the top 4 of ACC Louisville, UNC, ND, and Va Tech. Will be in that next tier with Duke and Miami. UNLESS several players really blossom

Well it’s the slow season with some visits and speculation about birdies. We also have our wish list of OOC opponents. OOC is 13 games, here is what I sorta know.

As far as I know we are locked in with Stanford(Away), UCONN(?) Clemson(Away)and a big 12 challenge game(Away). A renewal with NCSU(Home) is supposedly in the works. I don’t know about Duke or Maryland who been on the schedule through at least 2 H&H cycles.

Undoubtedly we will be invited to a neutral site tournament with 2 or 3 games. DS always schedules a game with a HBCU. I also imagine DS will double up on the Stanford trip. My guess/wish is Arizona since coach Adia Barnes is a friend.

IF I am correct that leaves somewhere between 3-5 games. My guess at least 1 cupcake. Maybe a homecoming game for Beal or Amihere?

Louisville and ND have repeatedly declined H&H series. Personally I think UNC would be fun but I doubt they want any of us. Also like a match up with Va tech.

Love for your knowledge, insights and hopes for OOC

FWIW -UConn is advertising their season ticket package to include the South Carolina game. Don't know if that was agreed upon after last year's cancellation or not. Also, look for a home and home with Iowa in the works. Caitlin Clark and a huge crowd at either arena would be a big TV draw.

I thought the UCONN game would be there. We were the one that cancelled so it’s on us. Would love to see Iowa here next season. We need some home games

You never know at the time, but having the conference tournament turn out the way it did makes me wish we had gone ahead and played UConn here. If the next encounter is up there, I'll wish it even more.

What problems do Louisville & ND have with home-and-homes?

What is the current streak against the upstate Tigers? Must be about a dozen or so, isn't it?

The new ESPN Gurlz Hoops ranking for 2023 top 100 is out...Fulwiley dropped and Rosario climbed to #8.

The 2024 group is interesting as McMiller from Hartsville is ranked as one of the top PG's. Joyce Edwards is still #1. There are a couple of girls from North Carolina that I know we are recruiting like Blanca Thomas who dropped to #10 and Hobbs fell all the way to #40. I've been watching online that player from Raleigh, 6'2" Sarah Strong. It would be nice to get Edwards, Thomas, Strong, and McMiller for the class of 24...
