I searched for Robbie and got a lot about a Mr Universe, Robby Robinson. He is still looking good when much older. FWIW

For what itโ€™s worth, Iโ€™ve really enjoyed watching your stuff on YouTube Robbie.
For the record, I'm not him. I wouldn't want him to be smeared by people thinking my posts are his. lol. Yeah I agree. I really appreciate his work.

Things I never thought I would say at the beginning of the season

UCONN has to win out to be a 3 or maybe a 2 seed

If UF wins out they finish second in the SEC

You mean we will down to UCONN BY 11 and win by 16?

You mean we will down to Stanford by 17 in the second half and still win?

Tennessee wbb lose to Alabama tonight. Number 3 Louisville WBB lose to UNC
Louisville's loss was reminiscent of our loss in the Final Four to Stanford last year. Put-back chance under the basket at the end was not exploited. Pretty sickening.

Carolina grabbed 62 rebounds to Auburn's 25 last night. That's crazy.

I was pleased with 6 rebounds and 2 blocks from Feagin. She only scored 1 point, but that's OK. If we have to play her in the tournament due to foul trouble, we don't need her to be a scorer. We just need her to hold her own inside on the defensive end.

Auburn never attempted to rebound their missed 3s.

I was pleased with the rotations Dawn had coming in off the bench. They more than carried their weight. She sprinkled in a few bench with a few starters until all the bench was in. They got not only valuable minutes but gained confidence in their ability to close out a game. Much needed after the KY debacle.

South Carolina is ranked 63rd currently in Scoring Offense at 71.4 ppg. That doesn't look great, but there are a ton of programs bunched together just above scoring 70 ppg: if we averaged 4 ppg more we'd be in the top 25.

South Carolina is 5th nationally in Scoring Defense, allowing 51.0 ppg: right behind Georgia Tech who is 4th also allowing 51.0 - they get to be ranked ahead of us because they've played 1 more game than we have, currently. But we are the top Power 5 programs in that ranking. We're also 3rd nationally in Scoring Margin, at 20.4 ppg, the top P5 program in that category. The Gamecocks are also 2nd nationally in Field Goal Percentage Defense, allowing 32.6%. They are 2nd only to Liberty, who allows 32.5%.

When one considers the strength of schedule we've played to get to those high rankings, plus the fact that Staley has always been a stickler for giving her reserves as much playing opportunities as possible in the 4th quarters, those stats are truly impressive.

South Carolina's scoring per quarter for the season is as follows: 1) 463, 2) 426, 3) 473, 4) 417 - the 1st and 3rd quarters are naturally the highest-scoring quarters, because those are the quarters when the starters are in the game. The 4th Quarter is the lowest, because that's the one quarter that is sure to see reserves play the dominant minutes - in some games that were close in the 1st half, starters have to stay in games late in the 2nd Qtr., so it's not as low. But we've averaged 889 ppg combined in the 1st half, and 890 ppg in the 2nd half - pretty solid balance.......

Incidentally, opponents' combined scoring per quarter is: 1) 309, 2) 303, 3) 321, 4) 336. So the 4th Qtr. is their best scoring quarter, while it is our worst. Makes sense as they are typically trailing - often trailing BIG - and have to make one last offensive surge to get back into the game. That can apply with the 2nd half scoring overall, as opponents have to make adjustments and play with more urgency being typically behind in the score of the game at that point. But opponents also play more often against Gamecock reserves in the 4th period.....

Good stuff.

Some of my thoughts on the offense: Carolina is 17th in points per 100 possessions. It's important to adjust for pace when evaluating our offense because so many teams try to slow the game down. Bama was down 25 against us and the point guard was waiting until the clock was down to 10 seconds before initiating the offense. Dawn will often slow the pace down herself when up 20+ points in the 4th quarter and the opposing team is content to stay packed in the zone. I give Vandy credit for continuing to press late in the game, even though it lead to a 50+ point loss. The 85 points scored against Vandy was 2nd only to the 88 scored against Buffalo, a team that plays at a VERY fast pace.

In the 2nd half last night, DS went with some press to try and speed up Auburn. She didn't have to press to win that game, but we have to work on it in case we need it down the road.

Conway and Dark

I so appreciate that yโ€™all are stat geeks like me. You bring to light great stuff.

This is a good offensive team but it gets hidden at times by just how overwhelming our D is. You did not even mention blocks and rebound margin, both #1. We have only given 60 points or more 6 times this season, with 68 being the highest in regulation time. In fact if our season points against average was JUST our worst 6 games..... we would tied for 5th fewest points allowed in the SEC!!

Over the last 10 games we are only giving 46.4 ppg and teams are shooting 30.3% and 27% from 3.

And if are honest those stats are inflated by just how much bench plays especially in the fourth quarter

If Horston is out Sunday, itโ€™s going to be a struggle for UT to break 50

What about Henderson and Saxton coming back next year as they do have that extra year of eligibility? We would be #1 for sure but the freshman coming in would not get a lot of playing time...If they do come back, we would love a lot of players after the 22-23 season.

Anyone hoping they come back or go on to pros? I think Henderson will be drafted in the first round. If Saxton is not, I see her playing overseas...

To me, this sounds like Saxton isn't coming back

UT FIRST LOOK

A less talented version of us on D

Top 5 in
Defensive fg %
Blocks
Rebounding margin
And until the last 6 games points allowed

The problems they present opponents is mainly on the D end of the court. Until injuries length and depth at every position. Rebound very well and height makes shots difficult. They are slow especially Darby, Puckett, and Key. Burrell also does not seem to be moving at pre injury agility. Key is overly aggressive and foul prone but is an excellent shot blocker. Everybody rebounds. There is now no depth at post. They have been primarily man to man but I expect some zone.

On offense everything revolves around Horston. She is a very tough matchup. If she is out they lose primary scorer and ball handler. Without her they will struggle to score 50. Burrell is the only other player who can get her own shot. Dye, Puckett, Darby and Walker can score but are support. Key has flattened teams offensively with no post and disappeared vs competitive centers.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT

They are much worse free throw shooting team than we are.

They turn the ball MORE than we do. They also give up almost 10 steals per game. Expect some press and zone trap.

I hope Dawn let's us keep the starters in and run it up on TN for the national audience and for all these Tennessee fans that will be in attendance who think they are on our level. we seem to always lose the 4th quarter, teams like Kentucky with their starters in crushing our backups in the 4th to make it a close loss, and we should have won that Georgia game by 40. Keep the foot on the gas all 4 quarters and beat this team! Especially after last years inexcusable loss, We all know if the roles were reversed Tennessee would show no mercy on us. make it ugly!

Dawn sees the bigger picture. If we have a comfortable lead, she will pull the staters like she did against Auburn, It's senior day and would be awesome if all the them got to play. Hopefully, Aliyah gets her double double early, we take control and can get the backups more playing time. Like you, I would love to drag them but I'm petty. Another reason, I'm sitting in the stands and not on the sidelines.

Tenn fans seriously think they have a chance :ROFLMAO: this is the same team that got destroyed to a unhealthy UConn team who then lost to Villanova, and that we beat when fully healthy with Paige by 16 on a neutral court, never seen so much delusion in my life than Tennessee fans

Are they better than Missouri, or not?

I think we win handily, I donโ€™t see how UT score 50, but you know me. I treat every opponent with respect and as a threat
And I respect that. I like the fire in that coach over there. I saw a halftime clip of her addressing her team at one of their recent games and it was strong - very strong. I think she is a more worthy successor to Summitt than the last previous coach was. If she can get the pieces together and keep them on the court, she will be a very tough out. At this moment, I don't think that to be the case.

Harper is clearly a better coach than Warlick, both Xโ€™s and Oโ€™s plus motivating and utilizing talent. She has however been well below expectations recruiting wise. With three classes in the barn, still no point guard and only 1 five * recruit, Pissott, who comes in next year.

She has recruited heavily in the portal and tapped into overseas. If her โ€˜23 class is not a top ten class....... they will be facing a talent deficit and at least I will have questions about her recruiting ability.

only 13.5 point favorites? this game should be over after the 1st quarter. Tenn only chance is if we didn't come ready to play and overlooked them, with it being senior day and on ABC, sellout crowd, I seriously doubt that will happen.

๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ We have been recruiting Fulwiley for SIX YEARS maybe even seven years and she is a Columbia girl, Keenan. I just donโ€™t see her slipping away. Think Hennyโ€™s speed and handle with a score first mentality.
Booker is a real talent and it looks like she is going out of state, good for us. But she is only down to a final 12.
Stack has an offer and would come but I really donโ€™t know if she has an offer on potential or proven commodity. Summer ball is where that will get sorted out.
Others are out of my depth of knowledge for now.

Am I the only one who wants a rematch with Mizzou in the SEC tournament? Currently they are in the 8 spot. I would rather face them than Kentucky, who is hot right now.
