157 Championship R2: #1 seed Levi Haines vs. #18 seed Teague Travis, (Okla. St.) -- I'll use TT for him

Per 1
Nothing thru 1st minute. Haines in on a single, and pushes forward to get TD, 3-0. He throws in a boot and is working TT pretty hard. TT to a seated position but Haines stays with him as they go OOB with 30 sec left. He throws in another boot, but can't turn him. End. RT @ 1:47 for Haines

Per 2
Haines takes bottom, and he's out in 6 sec, 4-0. Haines snaps the head down and gets behind for the TD, 7-0. TT gets an esc, 7-1. Haines in on a low single and gets the TD, 10-1. Haines cuts him, 10-2. Haines shoots; blocked. TT shoots, and Haines counters and gets the TD, 13-2. End. RT @ 2:39 for Haines

Per 3
TT takes bottom. Olympic start so TT is out, 13-3. TT sort of shoots, nothing. Haines works the head again and drives in for the TD, 16-3. He cuts him, 16-4. Haines in on a single, but a stalemate with 1:00 left. TT shoots a single, Haines sprawls, he tries to work around, not happening. 30 sec, on their feet. TT in on the legs, but Haines with the counter to get a TD, 19-4, and TF @ 6:41!!!

149 consy: Tyler Kasak vs. Drew Roberts, Minnesota

First period
There was some early posturing and then Kasak catches Roberts and throws him to his back briefly for a six-point throw and a 6-0 lead. He gets up under Roberts' arm and starts turning him with 30 seconds left in the period. He's tightening up under the chin but can't get the fall. He does get four nearfall points for a 10-0 lead after one.

Second period
Kasak did some work for turning combinations but couldn't get it, and Roberts escapes with 19 seconds left. Kasak already has the riding time point assured, however, with 2:34 in RT and just two minutes to wrestle.

Third period
Kasak down to start. He gets out and around for a reversal and a 12-1 lead. He cuts Roberts to 12-2. Roberts gets a takedown suddenly to 12-5. Kasak is out to 13-5. With 2:30 in riding time, Kasak wins 14-5.

Kasak md. Roberts, 14-5.

@GregPickel -- we may run into 2 matches at the same time, as Mesenbrink and Starocci are in the hole. Mesenbrink's mat is a little ahead, and who knows what will happen in the on-deck matches. But prepared to handle Starocci. If things change, I'll post about it

Edit: Teemer - Swensen going to OT may have given us time between the Mesenbrink and Starocci matches -- we'll see

FWIW, If I remember correctly Kasak lost to Roberts last year wrestling for the NLWC in an open tournament as a HS Sr. Roberts had already been in the Minnesota program for a few years at that point. That’s how much Kasak has improved in a year in the PSU room. He not only caught up with Roberts, he now majored him.

Thoughts on these Cornell Big Red singlets? I think I like them but I'm not used to them.
