184 5th Place Match:
#6 seed Bernie Truax vs. #2 seed Isaiah Salazar (Minnesota) -- I'll use IS

Bernie hasn't had the most favorable matchups in this Session. Here's hoping his last college match is a good one.

Per 1
Not much thru 1st minute. Truax in on a low single and gets the TD, 3-0. He flattens IS, and throws in a boot. Truax with a nice ride. RT goes over 1 min. Stall warning on IS. End. RT @ 1:46 for Truax

Per 2
Truax takes bottom. He works to his feet, and is out in 12 sec, 4-0. Truax in on a single and gets behind for the TD, 7-0. Another good ride, and RT goes over 2 min. He came close to a tilt, and a stall call on IS makes it 8-0. Truax flattens IS once again. End. RT @ 2:48 for Truax

Per 3
IS takes neutral. After some time, RT is locked. Not much thru 1st minute. Truax with a low single, and gets behind for the TD, 11-0. And again he flattens IS as he has a boot in. He's trying to work an arm bar. Stoppage with 6 sec left for PD. End. With RT, it's a 12-0 MAJ for Bernie Truax!!!

Byers made some mention that Bernie had not ended his previous NCAAs with a win (I'd have to check). If that's the case, major kudos to him in his last college match.

It's true. Lost all three third/fourth place matches to finish four the first three times he AA'd.

I think all his prior AA’s were 4th place IIRC.

#7 seed Tyler Kasak vs. #5 seed Ty Watters (West Virginia) -- I'll use TW

Per 1
Kasak in on a low single, they scramble a bit, and Kasak gets the TD, 3-0. OOB. TW works out pretty quickly, 3-1. 1 min left. Kasak reaches, nothing. End. RT @ 21 sec for Kasak

Per 2
TW takes bottom. TW works to his feet, and eventually works out, 3-2. RT @ 39 sec for Kasak. Kasak shoots, nothing. Collar ties, then not. TW shoots, nothing. End. RT @ 39 sec for Kasak

Per 3
Kasak takes neutral. TW shoots, Kasak with a counter and a stall warning on Kasak (smh). Kasak in on a leg, they scramble, a long scramble, and they go OOB. Almost had it. Blood stoppage for Kasak. 38 sec left. TW in on a leg, they scramble, nothing. Both guys active. End. Tyler Kasak takes 3rd Place, with a 3-2 DEC over Ty Watters.

Way to go, Tyler Kasak, as a true freshman and wrestling up a weight class!!!
