Are the Phillies missing opportunities while waiting for J.T. Realmuto to decide on their offer?

It's been weeks since the Phillies shifted focus to re-signing J.T. Realmuto, and nothing has happened. Is the holdup costing them chances at other moves?

Unless you're off-the-charts good, a lot of the contract numbers are based on where you are in the contract process, in terms of MLB service.

Banks made $785,500 last season.

2026 is the first year he's eligible for arbitration, and he was mostly a middle relief pitcher (which doesn't generate great statistics). Arb1 guys rarely get huge deals. He still has Arb2 (2027) and Arb3 (2028) before he gets to FA.
