That conversation with Casty was very awkward, almost cringe worthy. They asked him some tough questions. He is obviously pissed at the platoon situation he is in.

Too bad. He has been near the bottom of position players hitting all season. I don’t think his fielding is nearly as bad as advanced metrics indicate, but even then he has been overall bad this year.

The players he has been platooning with have been far more productive. Thompson has been doing it correctly.

That said I just watched the interview. Tough questions and I think Casty handled it very well.

Appropriately tough questions handled professionally by both parties

100%. Once Kepler got out of his own head, I think the marsh/bader/kepler outfield crystallized. Now I’m intrigued to see where Crawford comes into play
So, am I confused or have the September call up rituals changed? Why haven’t Crawford and Miller been called up? Doesn’t the roster expand in September? I know they called up Stubbs, but will there be other call ups?

The key question is whether Casty will eat some money to get moved. Nobody is taking him at $25 million next year.

The Phillies have about $70 million tied up in 3 players who give them very little. Casty, Nola and Walker.

It’d be nice if Dombrowski can move away from some of that.

Does Walker make the NLDS roster? With only needing 3 starters, I would think Nola and Buehler would be the long innings guys if needed.

Who are the three starters? Sanchez, Ranger, and Luzardo? All lefties?

They have been the 3 best over the season. I would start Luzardo in Game 2 at home. I trust Ranger more on the road for game 3. Also, Sanchez and Ranger pitch very similar with the off speed stuff. Start the hard throwing Luzardo at home in-between the two off-speed guys. I'm just throwing out some random thoughts.

ugh, Arizona wins 4-3. Fightins had the lead, but surrendered it. And with RISP, they went 0 for 5.

The Brewers won in 10 (over the Cardinals), so the #1 seed is looking more and more like a long-shot.

The top seed is no longer in play. Brewers hold the tie-break so it's really a 4 game lead. Strap on the seatbelts gentlemen, we're getting either the Mets or Dodgers.
