This is brutal.
I suspect JT threw it to Kemp after a dropped third strike, or it went around the horn and Kemp didn’t understand the significance.I missed this - how did Otto Kemp end up with Sanchez's 200th strike out ball? Then he tossed it in the stands??
Agreed!!!I suspect JT threw it to Kemp after a dropped third strike, or it went around the horn and Kemp didn’t understand the significance.
That said, I thought the Phillies base running tonight was atrocious, but the Marlins are inexplicably worse.
Maybe if he stops throwing 0-2 pitches right down the middle. We’ve got a developing problem with Duran. 3 blown saves in the last month and a blown tie game
Exactly. He needs a little Alvarado in him - throw some ballsMaybe if he stops throwing 0-2 pitches right down the middle.
Didn't take the NL very long to figure him out.Exactly. He needs a little Alvarado in him - throw some balls
Kerkering blows in particularBullpen is unreliable. No one has a clean inning and they all give up HRs. Will cost them in the playoffs.
The Duran HR wasn’t about the NL figuring him out. It was about him hanging an 0-2 fastball out over the heart of the plate.Didn't take the NL very long to figure him out.
Pitch count be damned - we need to ride our remaining good starters. They’ll be rested. What I wouldn’t give for a horse like Carlton, Shilling or Roy right now - guys who could throw 120 and give the bullpen a night off. (This last sentence should be filed in the “no ****” category)This bullpen continues to struggle. While no pen is perfect, they’ve fallen back to their leaky ways enough that fans should worry they’ll negate the Phillies starting rotation advantage vs most playoff foes.
At least the Dodgers also seem to have similar issues. San Diego is the team I fear most in the NL.
Those guys would never be allowed to throw 120 pitches today. Guys throw too hard anymore to risk doing that.Pitch count be damned - we need to ride our remaining good starters. They’ll be rested. What I wouldn’t give for a horse like Carlton, Shilling or Roy right now - guys who could throw 120 and give the bullpen a night off. (This last sentence should be filed in the “no ****” category)
