Looks like another one of "those" games. Base running blunder already and Nola looking like he belongs in A ball. This team is so damned schizo.

Nola may be washed

Outside of a terrible first inning he’s pitching really well. Keep in mind he missed a lot of time this year so he’s gonna take a bit to get back into his groove.

but let’s talk about the enigma of Kerkering. Dude blows it his last outing then comes in Tonight and is lights out.

But that’s Nola’s problem - recently (last 2 years at least) there’s always a really bad inning with a least one HR given up.

He’s been washed. His contract is one of the worst in baseball - about $25 million per year until 2030
The Nola contract will profoundly impact the roster for a long time. That deal will prevent them from resigning Ranger, IMO.

What GM would want the current version of Nola over Ranger?

There’s a domino effect coming due to the Nola, Casty and Walker deals which all look to be pretty bad decisions.

Quite a ballgame for Phillies pitchers 👍

Ranger pitching out of a 2 on and no out jamb.....wow!

Trea Turner is the unsung hero of this Phillies team!

After the Phillies batted in the top of the sixth, I stepped away to do a few things. I wasn't away very long and didn't think I'd miss much. When I got back, I saw Sanchez walking back to the dugout. WTF!?! Turns out it was a five-pitch inning for him and it went so fast I missed the whole thing. Dude is dealing tonight.

4 HRs in the Phillies 9-3 win, and not from the usual suspects.

Home Runs from Kepler, Marsh, Bader, and Stott. Bottom half of the lineup has been delivering.

@LionJim, can you decipher this? Or explain to me what it's doing in a Phillies thread?
There was a dust up when a guy came up with a ball in a scramble and a woman felt that she was entitled to it. The guy handed the ball to his kid and the woman got in his face. The guy took the ball from his kid and gave it to the woman. The Marlins personnel came down and gave the kid some goodies.

The woman is getting blasted on social media and even RAJ and Scott were getting on the woman during the broadcast.

LOL

I was jumping between a slew of sports events tonight. I actually saw Bader's HR, and saw that there was some issue in the stands after it, as a lady came running over to the guy that got the ball. But the TV cut away after that, and I think that was the last I watched of the game, as the Fightins seemed to be in control.

Thanks for the explanation. Why the post that I felt needed to be deciphered didn't have any of those details is beyond me. I always try to remember that posts about sporting events are being read by those watching the event, those following it on the board as they're unable to watch it, and those reading it long after the competition took place. Any post should make sense to anybody that reads it from any of those perspectives.

Tom, I agree with you but Commissioner Gordon didn’t fire up the Bat-Signal every time he saw someone littering. On a Friday night, too, smh.
