This series perfectly encapsulated this Phillies team. Now we see whether Dombrowski sees this through and what he can do to reshape the roster into something that can win a title.
The Phils might have played 20 innings and still only have 1 run tonight. Rob had several gaffs the first two games, but can't fault him on anything tonight. I would have walked Ohtani too. Last time against Duran he hit a bomb in July.
They have been all year. They chase bad pitches all the time. Stott should have walked in the 6th (or whatever) and Schwarber should have gotten an AB.
Who knows if that happened? Maybe they get Casty home from 2nd.
The hard part is going to be that they may need to take a step back to get better.
That gaffe of a play was the quintessential Philly way to end the season on.
Haven't been impressed by Duran in clutch situations. Should have never thrown that second slider to Betts to go down 2-0. Betts too savvy to fall for that.
Sorry, Phillies fans. This long-suffering Pirates fan was rooting for the PA team to advance. Tough post season again!
