Yeah, such a simple play to make. Sucks when that happens to your team.
Happens to this team way too often, plus all the bats go silent at once. Brewers have destroyed the Phillies this weekend. Now on the road to Toronto and Pittsburgh. I predict a losing road trip. It’s imminent.

@Grant Green, can you put this guy back on a TV moratorium from watching the Fightins? ;);)

Ricky B. Just ripping them post game, along the likes of “you got embarrassed last night, THAT’S what you bring today…they haven’t hit since Bryce went out, so that shows you what kind of team this is….etc.”

Their run differential (even during their winning streak) indicates this team is a lot closer to .500 than top of the league.

With a creaky bullpen, they can’t afford to go on prolonged scoring slumps.

You seem to have a point. Click “Show MLB Detailed Standings” to see run differential.

This is why they faltered down the stretch last season and why many fans are reserved about their chances this year.

Top teams tend to perform more dominantly over a season.

Phila sports fans should always be reserved about any Philly sports teams chances every season. Those of us that lived thru Phila sports in the late 80's, 90's, and 2000's should know this.

The Phillies are one of the top 5 to 6 teams in MLB. Their average run differential was #4 in 2024, measured over an entire season. They have made the playoffs the last 3 seasons and I would be surprised if they didn't this year. To think that they are not one of the top teams is overly pessimistic.
Baseball is a game of streaks and slumps, which can last for long portions of a season. The Phils were unfortunate to go on an incredible streak at the start of last season, level off, and then slump into the playoffs.
Hopefully that will reverse itself this season and the Phils will be fortunate down the stretch. Baseball is all about getting hot at the right time and the Phils have the pieces to do so.

What was the post-ASG split last season?

Not sure, but I don't care. You are trying to paint the 2nd half of last season as the norm and totally disregarding the first part of the season. The norm is likely somewhere between and probably closer to the 1st half of the season.
Again, they are a top 5 to 6 team. For any given stretch during the season, they could be playing like the best team or the 15th best team. Just have to hope that they play like the best team in October. That's baseball.

The outfield offensive production blows. I know he’s not considered to be “ready”, but bring up Crawford and give him a few starts. He batting over .300 at Lehigh Valley although he only has one HR the last time I checked. Could he be much worse that what’s being done right now??

Not very inspired by Phillies call ups in recent years. Can't recall the last one who had a solid major league career.

I suppose some who were traded for vets have done well.

Dang. I was too young (7) to remember that but my dad would mention in later years how much that hurt. IMO, the collapse was on Mauch, 100%.
Starting Bunning and Short on two days rest multiple times down the stretch was not a good strategy.

It was a bad weekend, no need to start walking the plank quite yet. It’s the win it all or nothing sports mentally that drives the passion and then subsequently the disappointment. The Phillies are going to be there come October, they’re going to be one of the teams with a shot.

Enjoy the ups and the downs of the season, even the beloved Phillies are going to go through rough patches.

I think we get to see some of these younger guys in triple a during the summer stretch.

Be of good faith!!!! WE ARE Phillies fans…..we can dish it out and we can take it!!!! We’re going to be there at the end of the season!!!

I hate both these teams, but I dislike the Braves just a little bit more.

Luzardo getting shelled in the second inning again, 4-0 Toronto. The shine is off the apple. I have a feeling we will see a DL coming due to some kind of arm issue.

Update: now 8-0. The Luzardo plane has crashed into the mountain.
