11 seeds beat 6 seeds.

12 seed beat 5 seed. High Point beat Wisconsin.
11’s beating 6’s arent big upsets. I really qualify an upset as any 13, 14, 15 or 16 seed winning.

High Point was the biggest upset.

UNC stunk all year and was only a 2 point favorite vs vcu.

texas was 2 point dogs vs byu, doesnt really scream upset

The way I’m reading this weekend is a few coaches who historically do poorly (Greg gard, Willard, Hubert Davis) regardless of NIL

you guys won’t give up on the NIL point… this year is going to have even fewer upsets than last year

I don’t like it either but you can’t argue Against the facts that probably 29 of the 32 programs that advance this weekend have more money than Rutgers and more talent on the roster

Utah State NIL only 2.5 million...Nova was likely 3x that amount

Likely unc had 14 mil...vcu 4 mil which is high for a10

???

Its a 7 point game....rutgers really wasnt in the game vs ucla either as if you can compare games

Tell me when Rutgers got 11 Q1/2 wins beating Texas Tech, Kansas and at BYU

Didn’t compare resumes

that’s also as close as they’ve gotten in some time

Ucla with 12 million should be beating this 3.5 million ucf
I’m really just being devils advocate because every chance someone has had to say oh guess NIL didn’t trip them ….

It’s a tired commentary I’m happy for UCF they made it

point remains 90-95% of the advancing teams are in the haves vs have not category and it means something

Rutgers will always have to do more with less. Is Pike capable of suceeding in the NIL era whereas another coach might be more in tune with the new world and how the game is played now

Less and food stamps are two different things

someone pointed out Iowa roughly has 8-10 this past year finished 10-10 in conference and we’re a 9 seed

that’s essentially what pike was doing before the wheels came off I think most fans would settle for that and I think it requires being competitive in ALL aspects including finances to FAIRLY expect that

People keep inflating numbers...not every big 10 school is spending 10 million plus

Des moines register said just over $6 million in recent article..sorry thats Iowa State which is surprisingly low for their success

Iowa has a coach that simply knows how to win and win championships

Another thread quoted an article that Iowa had 8 plus

do you need it to win no but most of the advancing teams are glad they had it

I havent been able to see that article...Iowa was in the bottom 5 the past 2 years in nil spending so that would be a huge increase

Please.....
Please what? You and your brother know didly $ hyt--- my grandkids are in classes with grant, lino and others and they attend classes and are graded and do all the stuff required of the non players.Of course if they are out of town no. I'll tell you what the football players also attend classes and are on an even tigther lease. One player last year was cutting up and it got back to Schiano .A day later Schiano gave him a talk. He came into class and apologized to the class and professor in front of everyone. Schiano doesn't mess around.

In the other thread...$4 million this year. (Ironically there is revisionist history for RU failure last year with a higher total roster payout even if Ru wasnt the paying them)Next year im assuming theyll be higher as will ru and everyone else

4 million plus whatever else they were able to raise from McCollum

there’s a less than 0.1 chance they had the same budget as us

if they in fact had the same budget then pike should be gone today because iowas roster, scheme and coaching are 100x better

Whatever RU does end up having in NIL next year and if we have another losing season missing the tourney, there will be a line of folks conjuring up their excuses of how we didn’t have enough or how it wasn’t as much as everyone else. They have it loaded in the holster and ready to fire when needed. If we do in fact end up having $9-$10Mil NIL next year, then that is more than adequate to say no more excuses.
