The article posted said 170 citizens over 9 nomths. Thats about 15 people a month (if you believe they are giving an honest account, which i seriously doubt).

If you are confronted by ICE then just prove you are a citizen. I would happily do so. It is a minor inconvenience at worst and i don't agree with the way you are framing the argument.

Many of those 170 probably tried to interfere with an investigation. I doubt they are accurately portraying the whole story.

I'm asking sincerely - how do you prove you're a citizen? What do you carry around with you that trivializes this?

How did they prove they were citizens when they crossed the border? Who failed to do their job? Why are you laying blame at the people who are enforcing the law, that we ALL agreed to pass? Why do you ignore all the people affected by illegals leeching off our system?

I am also asking sincerely. I wonder why there is no concern for the LAW ABIDING AMERICANS and only people who have broken the law. Should all the people doing the right thing, including legal immigrants, just sit down and shut up?

Who checked these people's citizenship status?

I genuinely feel sorry for the illegals. I do have a heart.

But we have a country. We have laws. These people were mislead and lied to. I lay the blame at the feet of the democrats.

He believes that because Biden did a poor job on the border that literally anything is allowable as a response. It is Biden's fault that they have to tread on citizens.

Actually, as a resident here, who works with hispanic people who are here legally, they are staying home because the BP and ICE are illegally detaining people and harassing them based on their skin color.

As a reminder, your government must have probably cause that a crime has been comitted in order to detain you. What is happening is very ILLEGAL. I would ask you so called conservatives, are you afraid of your neighbor or your government?

Again, legal, working people are afraid. I know first hand.
Of course there should be no worries if the people are here legally.

I'm sure you think that people who are here subject to an immigration hearing are here legally. I suspect the same thing holds true for those who were denied asylum but are appealing the decision. And what about the no shows? I suspect you believe that 15-20 million should receive taxpayer funded hearings and appeals which is pretty much impossible. In other words the law doesn't matter.

I'll leave to others to interpret the "law" but I suspect you think knocking on a door or asking for ID is harassment. So even people with deportation orders can't be apprehended without a warrant.

One of the guys who works for me remotely, is a citizen, but family is from Colombia. Same for him and his family (staying home if at all possible due to being brown). Also says he’s now carrying his passport everywhere.
Is the person working for you an American born child of an illegal family.

I'm specifically and repeatedly expressing concern for people who are here legally.

If you get stopped by ICE (for whatever reason) and are asked to "prove your citizenship", I'm literally asking what you show them.

You don't have to be a citizen to get a driver's license and only around half of Americans have passports. Is it ok for them to haul me off to jail while they wait to check into my legal status?

Honestly haven't asked. Just know he is a citizen with a passport, etc (and is bilingual, visits family in Colombia yearly etc). Do have someone with a H1B visa who reports to me, but different situation (and they are in our Dallas office).

Drivers license. Identification card. Social security card. Passport.

If you are here legally on a green card you are required, by law, to carry evidence of your immigration status AT ALL TIMES.

Remember, democrats wanted to require you to show a vaccine card to go anywhere. Not going to get much sympathy from me on this topic.

Of those, only a passport is proof of citizenship. Half of people don't even have them. No one carries their birth certificate with them because that's insane and you're specifically not supposed to laminate the miniatures.

So you're ok with Citizen's being detained for no damned reason at all other than them being brown, is what I'm hearing. If this were to happen to you, you'd lose your damned mind (and be justified in doing so).

15 people a month according to the article posted by someone else.

15 people a month with a minor inconvenience.

Maybe a drivers license isn't proof, but it should be able to be cross refereneced.

Democrats wanted American citizens to show vaccine ID to walk into a grocery store. No sympathy from me on this.

This all lies at the feet of democratic policy. Democrats lied to these people. The mislead these people.

And yes, many people aside from brown people have been deported. So spare me the racism talk. It's just another boy that cried wolf situation.

It's fine to do this stuff to citizens but legally pulling Senator's phone records is democracy falling apart. The only consistent thing about you is your blind support of this administration.

Incorrect. I have made several posts critical of the administration. But they are 100% correct that people here illegally should be deported.

21,000 or 15% of a school system is estimated to be fraudulent. That is not fair to the people that pay the taxes.

And that's why Fatpiggy is the biggest ******* on this board. He can claim whatever he wants, he blames whoever, he says racism isn't real, then he hates people of color and doesn't think they are due the same rights others are.

Your logic here is ***. That 15% of people didn't show up does not mean they're here fraudulently. Right or wrong, a lot of people don't want to risk their kids being hassled by ICE (even if they're citizens). I have white friends in NC who were thinking of keeping their kids home. I'm not saying I agree with that decision. I'm just pointing out that even casually thinking about the situation would tell you that 21,000 aren't illegal.

Ooooooweeee its fun to see @fatpiggy talk like a politician and never answer a simple question while he spirals on about Biden/vaccine/illegals etc.

The party that screams "don't tread on me" is openly supporting US Citizens being tread on by the government.

The struggle from posters like himself to think critically or not have their feelings hurt when their vote goes against American values, is quite the scene.

Saying legal people that are here who are being detained illegally is a minor convenience. Not much difference from Megyn Kelly saying 15 year olds are of the barley legal variety for Epstein.

Hypocrisy doesn't feel strong enough to describe these opinions.

You'll have to share that with all the legal citizens who have been getting rounded up and harassed by BP/ICE.

So yeah, no **** that some minorities are refusing to show up to school. The way the administration is going about this will go down as one of the most embarrassing events in US History.
how would you have them do it? They've advertised on TV, media , if you're here illegally go home. Yet for some reason, they don't, so someone has to round them up for deportation

American citizens are detained for crimes the police think they committed. these people are questioned and then released. sometimes mistakes are made.

huckleberry, you seem like a reasonable person, would would you have law enforcement do? they are attempting to do their jobs. They have been shot at, assaulted, doxed, run over - and attempted to be run over, rammed by cars driven by undocumented people.

The head of dhs has encouraged them to leave, offered free plane rides and money.

They are in the country illegally. We do have laws. If we're not going to enforce them what have them?

The border crisis has crippled America. Something even moderate liberals think, but are too scared to say out loud for fear of being labeled racist. All Illegal Immigrants are criminals by the simple fact that they crossed into a country without permission. That doesn’t make them evil or gang members, even though some of them are. That doesn’t mean we as a society should be hateful towards them.

BUT, They are the cause of our housing crisis, inflation, job insecurity, and the lack of resources for elderly veterans and low income American families. In turn, this leads to low birth rates and if you thought the situation was bad now, wait until we are the elderly, and there was no one around to take care of us.

Compassion does not trump logic. Stand with America and for those coming to this country, legally, we will welcome you. We need to hear you. Extreme liberals think they own compassion.

But compassion is knowing when a situation is untenable.

Did he say all
I'm not going to join the carousel of back and forth drivel. For me if you're in the country illegally you should be deported. If you don't want to go on your own then you should anticipate an ICE, BP or other law enforcement office at your door. If you are an American citizen who is falsely arrested you should go peacefully follow LE orders, provide documentation and await release.

It doesn't seem all that hard to me. American citizens are arrested and released when suspected of crimes. Why are we so upset when it happens to someone LE suspects of being here illegally.

Because someone shouldn't have less rights because they are brown. One of our rights is against unlawful search and seizure.

They should have more probable cause other than the color of their skin, correct?
"In an emergency order in September 2025, the supreme court temporarily lifted a lower court's ban that prohibited immigration agents from using factors like race, language, location, or job type as the sole basis for stops."

I believe this excerpt answers that question.

Yeah, disagree with the temporary order. Was sent back to the ninth court.
