Curious to know what this means for Grunk.
NoThere has not been an announcement that Grunk signed at VT. Does he return to PSU as the backup on 2026 and starter in 2027?

Who wouldn’t want to get Knowles back together with the exact guys that played his defense this season?!?!So basically Tennessee is willing to shell out the most money for these guys. I predict Coleman will be back in the portal next year.
Volionteers?Tennessee Nittanyteers? Did I do that right?
Who indeed? Well done.Who wouldn’t want to get Knowles back together with the exact guys that played his defense this season?!?!
you must be new hereOr they are following Knowles? Are we assuming they asked for more money than PSU was willing to pay them? Or is there evidence? Should we assume that all the Iowa St guys coming to PSU got paid the most from PSU and they are all money hungry? That seems a bit presumptuous, right? They are probably just following the coach that recruited them and coached them, Campbell, right? Maybe we, as a fanbase, should stop with the double standard and stop throwing stones in glass houses?
SMH. PSU has 30+ portal guys coming in and counting and we are going to throw insults at others. FFS.you must be new here
What we do is correctSMH. PSU has 30+ portal guys coming in and counting and we are going to throw insults at others. FFS.

Can we stop with this "can't run from competition"?He could have stayed at PSU. Can't run from competition.
That's one excellent player (Campbell), one improving player (Gilliam), and one athletic & potentially excellent player (Coleman) from PSU's 2025 defense. Be interesting to see how they blend with UT's existing talent and if they can form a dominant defense.
I think he ran toward a payday, which isn't the same thing at all.He could have stayed at PSU. Can't run from competition.
He a 6' 4" - 208lb. Safety from Glenside Pa. with 3 years of eligibility remaining.We flippoed Fileppo? Fab-flipping-tactic!
who is he?

You need to gauge the noise to content ratio of the idiot who was pushing the guarantee narrative. Sh*t Franklin did not guarantee Grunk a starting position and he has seen him for two years.I said it at the time, but I think it’s foolish to expect a player to be “guaranteed” a starting spot at a Power 4 team unless the guy is a proven stud. Grunk will likely need to earn his spot to start.
That ship has sailed long ago. Penn State has three QBs committed; two in Campbell's system and an incoming freshman. They have much bigger fish to fry for 2027.There has not been an announcement that Grunk signed at VT. Does he return to PSU as the backup on 2026 and starter in 2027?

I fully undetstand Becht is the 26 starter. @ PSU. Not disputing that. Just saying he could have stuck around and competed for 2027 at PSU. Now he is required to compete for 2026 since they brought in another QB and he's going to be in an offense that doesn't exactly ft his skill set.Can we stop with this "can't run from competition"?
Becht was starting in 2026--period
maybe he wanted to compete for a 2026 starter's jobYep.

But he wants to at least have a shot to start in 2026--having a chance to start is way better than notI fully undetstand Becht is the 26 starter. @ PSU. Not disputing that. Sure. And I get it either way Becht coming in. But your statement is correct - he left in order to have a chance to start in 2026 which was essentially not possible at PSU. He didn’t leave to walk into a situation where he would be automatically the starter.maybe he wanted to compete for a 2026 starter's job
Correct, he has not signed. He visited and everyone assumed it was a done deal but it isn’t.There has not been an announcement that Grunk signed at VT.
I believe you are correct, however, there is no guarantee he starts at VT.maybe he wanted to compete for a 2026 starter's job
Who knows what lies BGJ told himI believe you are correct, however, there is no guarantee he starts at VT.
Isu qb ran more than psu. What makes you think isu offense fits grunk's skillset?Yep.

I don't think he was looking for a guarantee, but a chance to competeI believe you are correct, however, there is no guarantee he starts at VT.
We don't know what was initially communicated to him by the VT staff either way (guarantee or compete). Remember CJF is the one who constantly said there were QB competitions at PSU and I never believed that to be true. He had his choices and stuck with them.Sure. Becht is certainly a better runner but their passing game extended the field much more than PSU and Grunk is really sound/accurate with his long passes, able to hit receivers in stride. I think the new offense at PSU us a better fit. As some have said, he still might be looking around, has not signed yet.Isu qb ran more than psu. I don't think either offense is a great fit for him. Grunk is truly a pocket passer--he doesn't want to run at all. Now the offense coming to Penn State would work better than what Franklin wants to do but he'd have been dumb for staying just like he'd be dumb for going to Va Tech,Becht is certainly a better runner but their passing game extended the field much more than PSU and Grunk is really sound/accurate with his long passes, able to hit receivers in stride. G5 might work out.I don't think either offense is a great fit for him. Grunk is truly a pocket passer--he doesn't want to run at all. He'd be smart if he'd even be willing to go to a G5 program for a year then move up. Just go somewhere to play that runs a pro style offense or is willing to.
“We’ll win big games here at VT!!!”Who knows what lies BGJ told him
