That Duke loss to Kaipanov was one of the best matches in a losing effort I've seen. Nice that Kaipanov even seemed to recognize it. A shame Duke didn't get points for that beautiful chest wrap (the first one). Incredible that he was able to pull that off against anyone at this level much less Kaipanov.
Jax vs Uguev! Who you got? I think Jax pulls it off. His length and scrambling ability are problems
Zahid vs Ghasempour! How about this one? I’m not a Zahid fan but I am a USA fan so I’m pulling for him. I think his offense is too much for Ghasempour

He continues to reaffirm my 1st impression.

Has anyone ever beaten Yianni when he was fully healthy, and trying??
It was Duke's father's post, so he was the one who deleted it.
Yianni remarked that Duke has a hard cut, and Mr. Duke responded with data showing the cut wasn't terrible. It wasn't a bad comment if made by a neutral party like Willie or the Flo guys -- who presumably would have some facts -- but easily interpreted as sour grapes from the guy who lost to Duke at Trials. Completely unnecessary for Yianni to do that, and he should know better.
It seemed a strange remark from Yianni, but how is It sour grapes? I imagine there are plenty of guys at these 2-day tournmaments with healthy weight cuts. Even if Duke was cutting a lot of weight for this event, why would it matter?
Maybe I'm just being dense here.
As a guy who lost to PJ, he should be wishing PJ the best or STFU but not second guessing the US’s representative during competition.
PJ hung with the current world champ…….he is fine. Yanni should worry about his own health.

I could not believe it when Will Smith came out of nowhere to slap Yianni on his face and say “Keep PJ’s name out of your mouth!”

Years of reading his own press clippings has convinced him that his opinion is as great as his wrestling used to be!
Semis start in 13 minutes. All on one mat. Forrest is first. Kaipanov-Tumur Ochir, which obviously has PJ Duke implications, is fourth. Valencia's semi then closes things out for both Team USA and the session. All semis are on one mat.
Was 8-3 (see tweet above for explanation) and then a late Forrest desperation shot was countered.
61kg semi 1: Uguez beats Forrest, 10-3
Gassed a little at the end. Valiant effort. What a future for him.

International experience is so important at this level. Young guys are showing bright future for Team USA. I hope to see USAW putting guys into more events going forward to gain needed experience.

If Uguev had a challenge left he would have thrown the brick at the end of the 1st. It appeared that he exposed Jax multiple times.
Could have been a TF.
I don’t think Jax ever got back to a defensible position there, so I thought they got that call right. Might have been a fall in there somewhere though.
Jax never defended on his belly so they weren't new exposures.
Yeah - that was really ****** too. Cox handled it with grace.
they scored that as two points exposure only. They don’t award an exposure and then the takedown that follows as 2 + 2.
Was hoping we’d get Duke vs Gomez. PJ wrestled great today—the future is bright.
